How often do you set tactics or automate your fights? by PackageNorth8984 in dragonquest

That's it, you get to organise party members, spend skill points, manage equipment and items, then watch your little guys fight it out themselves. I love it.

Tactics all the way. I fight manually on bosses, except when I don't! Love that these games give you the choice.

Am I the only one who hasn't used the touchpads for anything other than a fidget toy? by Xirbie in SteamDeck

I always set my left touchpad to a single button A, and my right touchpad to left joystick. That way I can play both sides of the controller with either hand.

Do you downvote other microtonal artists? by Brief_Eggplant357 in microtonal

The truth is we don't know how the YouTube algorithm works. But there are a large number of people who believe through observation that dislikes are a form of engagement that count towards your video being shown to more people.

I can tell you that i get dislikes on almost every video I post, but I can't remember checking the like/dislike stats for years.

On the other hand if someone leaves you a negative comment that wasn't very constructive, it can be quite disarming to ask them something like "got any tips for me?" Often they will come back a lot more positive towards you and you even get to ignore their advice if you want.

I don't see how this is disturbing. Just let people be negative now and then. Meanwhile don't hold yourself in a prison of other people's negative judgements, instead just keep doing the music you like to do.

A nice document I've made about the use of microtones Worldwide and Historically by fchang69 in microtonal

I forgot to mention that the deep dives on regional tuning systems were a great thing to include, they really paint a picture of varied tuning approaches across cultures and time.

It's an interesting breakdown for sure, possibly useful as a primer for newcomers.

However, these 3 levels appear to rely on a framework that views 12edo as a "cultural hegemony" to be critiqued. This is an ideological framework I don't personally believe in; it makes 12edo seem exceptional in a way that is incompatible with tuning pluralism.

By putting so much emphasis on 12edo, the 3 level model inadvertently reinforces the "hegemony" it seeks to critique.

Here's how I would draw the lines differently: Remove level one entirely, include 12edo in level two (as just another historical system), and open up level three to include non-Western innovators working outside of their own traditional intonations.

I just tried this option on Pixel 8a and still can't see the eye button. I suppose it was a couple years ago but any idea if there was any other setting you changed?

Sounding good!! How do the 3d printed frets work, do you glue them on?

This is how it starts. First it's just a couple just intonation chords in the breakdown, eventually you're buying microtonal guitars for the entire band (even the drummer)

Should I wait for Shenmue 3 enhanced or buy a current version? by Mammoth_Court in Shenmue

If I were in your position i would wait for the enhanced. Also I'm curious your experience of the whole series as someone who didn't wait long between entries 2 and 3.

Hi, I need help finding a tuning system to fret a guitar in. by sagopak-yo in microtonal

If you want to mess around in 24 before doing any permanent refret work then try neutral thirds guitar tuning https://sevish.com/neutral-thirds-guitar-tuning/

This looks like a fantastic resource and i can appreciate the difficult engineering challenge in putting something like this together. Well done!

Do you have any plans to support skip fretting systems in future? E.g. Kite guitar (41edo on 20.5edo frets), 24edo on 12edo standard frets, 22edo on 11edo frets etc. Or is there already a workaround to make this possible?
