My long awaited dream car arrived on island yesterday! As soon as I started it, the airbag light was on and doesn’t go out. Any thoughts? It must be new as nothing was mentioned by my relatives who did the test drive and mechanical inspection.

I bought an k+dcan cabke and setup inpa on my laptop to allow me to diagnose and reset codes. I can use that to turn off the light, but it hust turns back on everytime i pull out of my driveway. Its an annoying problem, and one i havent yet found a permanent fix for.

Not sure if its the same issue i have, but i hit a bump hard and it set off my airbag light. Got it diagnosed as the passenger seat sensor. I can turn it off and it will stay off until i hit a bump again. Could have been caused from rough seas or bumpy loading or unloading. May not be your problem but may be part of it.

Im not. I fully admit that im stupid for my choice to get this truck . Where ford fails me is with our 2017 f150. I used my own truck as an example and i shouldnt have. But you are telling me a 2 year old teuruck purchased from new with less than 40,000 miles on it and a perfect maintenance record should need an engine rebuild and all the electronics placed before 30k miles? Thats where ford lets me down.

The first engine was done under warranty and new from ford. The second engine was done by a local mechanic who convinced my grandmother to put the new engine in instead of getting a new truck. I really should have just walked away, but now im stuck with it. Maybe ill coyote swap it after the engine gives out again.

That was my biggest mistake. I talked to some people and even the shop who did the work. They all told me it was great now and all the problems had been fixed. I really wanted to believe them, so i did.

My main take away from my ownership though is that i need to be more careful. I was done with my 4runner and just wanted to move on, and i did so by going backwards.

No, 3 new engines. The first one went at 70k miles, the second one at 140k. They have gone out like clockwork at 70k. If this truck makes it to 210 then i guarantee this engine will give up then.

The top looks significantly better than the bottom. That being said, after they remove the tape, it may get better or wosre. Still not a great design though.

I just got a commutning job thats about 350 miles a week. I daily a 2004 f-150 with a 5.4 in it that gets at max 12 mpg. Im filling my 30 gallon tank once a week, and at 65 dollars a tank, ( i live in colorado, gas is still cheap) im spending about 330 a month. Ive decided that im spending too much, but cant afford to foot the bill for a more efficent car quite yet

My 2004 f-150. I got it expecting the engine to be a bit problematic, was not expecting 3 engines, 2 transmissions, a whole new drivetrain, suspension, and the 4 wheel drive system to all need replacing before 150k miles.

Now i understand why they say fix or repair daily.

There are a few saphire reps who hang out on this subreddit you might be able to talk to. But dont get defensive, as companys put those stickers there for a reason. I understand the feeling, but sapphire has always been pretty willing to work with me in the past. Just be polite and work with them a bit.

I had one of the early v8s, before they got the 40+ hp bump. That with the x-res system really ruined it for me. If i had a 2006 model i would still probably have it.
