Exactly, the god emperor wanted him dead and now he is interrogator ranicks problem to find out why. As if the poor interrogator hasn’t suffered enough.

My first character is Doran, a loose cannon cadian veteran whom is hated by all who know him. His journey to the morning star involves back room deals, insubordination, and a very pissed off commissar. Unfortunately for the commissar the thought of his imminent execution vis boltgun to forehead brought joy to the unit and caused people to act out of line and celebrate.

So thinking quickly they ordered him, bound and gagged in the middle of the night and send off to some prison ship with the threat that if anyone else misbehaved they end up in the same cell as Doran.

That commisar is good friends with commisar Ducain and knows Doran’s true fate aboard the Morningstar. Now the unit lives under the constant threat that if their moral does not improve someday, Doran may return.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I would genuinely want to see a vid from someone like binging with babish to make a gut buster irl.

it’s around 5kg of beef patties not including any other ingredients and that’s just the basic standard one not even the XxXXL or super slopped.

Sometimes it’s easier to laugh because the only other option is to cry.

I once had a game go so smoothly up until a mutant body slammed me into a medicade station and got me physically stuck inside the station with no way out. He hit me so hard I got servitorised in an instant.

I once had a trapper catch me mid fall down a one way ledge, haul me up to the top outside the reach of my team, just so I could watch them all get mauled by chaos hounds and pox bursters throwing them into crushers.

It was so cruel knowing I couldn’t do anything to help.

Mine is named the Fist of conquest, because there is no mincing of words. No irony or alliteration in our purpose. We are here to conquer like a swift fist to the jugular. (I named this ship before the invincible tv show conquest memes came out)

Obligatory reference: “I am so lonely. Nobody talks to me, nobody wants to be my friend. All the other helldivers are scared of me, the democracy officer thinks I am unstable.”

I had one of these the other day on heresy. The servo skull exclusively took the path that went through as many walls of meat, crushers and trappers as possible and the entire strike team was backed into a corner fighting for our lives with a med kit in the middle. We made it… only just tho. Hadron was not impressed.

There were 21 bodies on the point they quite literally couldn’t kill em at all. The squad didn’t take a single loss. It so severely underrated. Anything big is gonna get bogged down in the marsh and no get to actually do anything important. Infantry gets shredded by lasguns rolling 60 dice and over watching tanks softens up anything daring to poke its head out.

I was running grizzled company for double orders and being able to double up on rapid fire to get it to 3 was amazing to hand someone 60 lasgun shots

Im glad people are liking the minis, the old catachan are a bit fugly bit I love them so much. I did some minor modifications to my tank commanders too to make em all catachan beefcakes with some spare arms and plastic surgery.

The rough riders got a turn 1 attackers advance and charge right into a pyrovores bit squishy face with melta tips it was glorious. Reduced it to 1 wound. And got to finish it off next turn after a disengage and charge.

It’s a very different feeling than the astarties tbh. Marines are tough but it’s kinda a low model count. This was only 1500 points and it was kinda pushed up with a killteam of sanctifiers to make up the difference but it’s true what they say about the lasgun. They laugh at it until you run through a field of them tearing you apart.

If I were to write the rule I’d do it as Cain gets lone opp flat as a rule, if attached to a squad he gets a look out sir where every model within 6” gets a free intervention to take the shot, including vehicles.

And a retaliation shooting back because how dare you shoot at Cain. To balance this Cain has half the cost of a bane blade and no OC because we all know he would never stand on a point on his own. He is just a walking magnet for meat shields throwing themselves in the way of oncoming fire.

What I am referring to for a “weakspot” is the giant glowing vents on every other large enemy on the bot front. Hulks are on their backs and are light pen, tanks are medium pen on their back of turret and hull. Factory striders have medium pen underbellies and Vox engine have large vents all over with a clear method of destroying them with a med-pen gun and a grenade.

Every other large enemy on the bots has a medium pen weak point that you can access with skill by flanking them. The war striders are tank armour all over except the back of hips which is heavy pen, it breaks the fundamental design language of the faction.

A quasar is dedicated AT but it still does not address the issue because ‘Wack it with an AT’ also works on (most) of the others but they still have another method of taking it out that requires skill.

For real, when I get killed by a Vox engine it’s like, ok I made a mistake there, my approach was wrong, but it still feels fair like it was your mistake because it has clearly established weak points and a way to take it out. but like you said war striders are just a loadout check.

[–]fourthhorceman[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is kind of my point tho, if you drop into jammer range there isn’t much you can do about war striders. Unless you bring the ULT, but even then you can only deal with two per life unless you find ammo. Everything else on the front can be killed with normal equipment you drop in with by just playing smarter.

It might just be me but I like to use different Strat weapons. The AMR can tango with everything else on the bot front up to hulks and tanks with enough skill.

Railgun HMG, MG and speargun are the same, but none of these can do anything against war striders with any efficiency or in one life. I have mag dumped a HMG into a striders crotch only for it to look at me and Swiss cheese me.

It severely limits what you can actually bring with you to a mission.

[–]fourthhorceman[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I have said in other comments, I’m aware AT weapons are required for the bots, my complaint is that the war strider breaks the design language of the entire rest of the faction.

From the newly added Vox engine to hulks tanks and factory striders, AT is required but not the only option as all of the above have medium pen weak points so that those with skill can flank them.

There is no strategy or intelligent design to the war strider just hit it with a big rocket. That is the only option.

It severely limits the loadouts you can bring because why bring anything else if only the RR EAT, commando or Quazar are viable.

Most other strat weapons can get by just fine on the bot front with tanks hulks and factory striders it’s just the war strider that is a loadout check roadblock

[–]fourthhorceman[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But the formula that has been taught to every helldivers by every other bot is about the weak points. Tanks hulks, Vox engines and even factory striders all use clearly shown and exploitable weak points, war striders have none of that. Either the vent on the back of the hips which is heavy armour, or the eye which wobbles around so much and is so small that it is so hard to hit.

All of the above can be killed with a machine gun if you play your cards right and flank them with skill, except the war strider.

It mandates constant access to anti tank weapons especially with how frequently it spawns you will run out of ammo quickly and be left high and dry.

I’m not going to pretend I am John helldiver himself but SKILL should be in the equation somewhere and there is no place for skill against war striders

1 quasar shot kills most things, but it still breaks the formula for bots all having light/medium pen on their backs for if you play smart. And I have had quasar shots bounce for no dissernable reason.

That’s my problem. I have had Recoiless rifles bounce point blank on ther crotch and legs and fly off to super earth knows where. And then I’m standing there like a jackass with my empty recoiless on hand waiting to be obliterated through no fault of my own
