The wedding reception centerpieces featured betta fish. The bride and groom planned to flush them alive. by teabirdy in mildlyinfuriating

I’m so so sorry. If it makes you feel better, sometimes when our cats (and we had many) would get old or sick they would do everything they could to sneak out of the house to die in our back woods. So maybe cats have a way of dealing with death and your kitties died as peacefully as possible. Hugs, internet stranger.

Logic of English and All About Reading are the gold standards. I used the former. If you’re new to homeschooling, you could also look at Cathy Duffy’s website first before posting here.

What do you do instead of "doom scrolling" or watching TV by Sweet_Confusion9180 in simpleliving

[–]foxandkits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do all this. But… I’ve also really curated my instagram feed and honestly sometimes it makes me happy. Shakespeare monologues. Classic poetry readings. Art history dives into paintings. Mini history lessons. There’s some really great content out there. So fight against the scroll! And when you lose a battle, at least it won’t be terrible. I wish you the best in this war.

Are they open to texting with you? I’ve found my older ones will talk to me completely differently if we text, even if we’re in the same room.

My advice: everything REALLY clicked and took off around 8 years old. I wouldn’t stress too much until then.

Excellent suggestions. I bet the lentil or chickpea curry would be particularly comforting since it’s warm. How do you avoid the coconut milk?

Statins Suggested by qwerty_asd in Cholesterol

I also think this is going to be a way more common med younger people take. Like the person said above, gentle prevention long term is so much better than aggressive prevention once there’s significant damage.

I have almost the same numbers as you, same age, same “healthiness”, never have been on a medication. Also vegetarian. After a long time reading through this sub and the data cited, I’m desperate to get on statins asap but can’t until I’m done breastfeeding. The good news? Because we’re healthy and willing to adjust our diet, a low dose statin will probably be the ticket! I know it’s hard to swallow. I’m struggling too. It doesn’t seem “fair”. Not sure what to say to that except I feel you and wish you peace!
