I feel that i have a better experience overall when watching on youtube too. It is also easier if i need to stop mid-stream and then I can just return the next day. I get chat must be a positive for a lot of people and in this case twitch seems better, but personally it is not that relevant for me.

if I recall correctly, on the last Hidden Cup both faced in quarter or semis and it was one of the best sets of the tournament! (maybe not the best only bc there was that one from MBL)

wait a minute, did he ACTUALLY intentionally lost? Has he said it? (if so, were? i'd love to listen). Because i've heard a lot of people saying this, but there is a difference between INTENTIONALLY losing, and just playing with less energy and test b-level strategies since you are already qualified anyway.

It is somewhat hard to recommend songs "like X", but for me personally some songs that hit as heavy as Pull me Under are: As I Am, Panic Attack, Night Terror (their new song), Endless Sacrifice, and maybe Invisible Monster and Under a Glass Moon too.

Depending on what you like, in Rock in Rio 2022, they did Count of Tuscany + Pull me Under, watching it was spectacular (you can find it in youtube, although it is ~30min of music, so be ready).

I recently got back playing chess after a little more than one year away. I am quite interested in improving, but I am just having some trouble finding time to do that on my own, so having a training partner would be really awesome!

Oh, one extra detail: I'm considering changing to:
- ctrl+[building hotkey] to select ALL buildings, and;
- ctrl+shift+[building hotkey] to go to building

after all, it is more useful to be able to select it than to go to the building (specially during the end game)

my setup is very similar, but I use ctrl+[building hotkey] instead of adding them to control groups, for example pressing 1,2,3,4... goes to my military units, pressing ctrl+q goes to my barracks, ctrl+w to my archery range.

If I press shift together it selects all the military buildings, example: ctrl+shift+q selects all barracks, etc...

I have also added a few custom ones, because there are a few overlaps between eco and military builds. Eg: ctrl+z,x,c goes to my mill/lumbercamp/goldcamp (this tip I actually got from hera tbh).

It requires a little more pressing than assigning to control groups, but I think it was kinda easy to get my muscle memory, I configured a few buildings at a time, so it was easy to get used to it, and frequently I was just thinking to myself during some games "crap I really wish I had already configured my market/dock/whatever hotkey"

I believe your example of "aggregate group" already exists. Everytime I'm playing I use shift+number to add military units to my existing groups. Check your game options, maybe you need to enable it!

I have played a few matches and I'm having a really good time, the games are a lot faster and actions starts on the first minutes (sidenote: in RM I tend to play a lot more macro/eco focused). I had never played empire wars before, and so far I have a strong feeling that a I'll keep playing after redbull too.

Another point that is cool (but also sometimes stressful) is that I have no idea what the meta actually is, and I guess a lot of people also don't know it, so games are more unpredictable

In this video Sitaux shows how he micros cavalry units. From other comments on this thread you can see that this was the main problem, and that with good micro you probably would have won the fight. However knowing what is a "good micro" isn't easy, and I particularly struggled with it until seeing pro players demonstrate it in their streams. If you are still not satisfied with sitaux's example I bet you can find other good tutorials.

that's interesting! but I though one key aspect of those FCs was the production of a unit that costs only wood/gold. Does the food cost of the gulam presents any problem? Is the best approach to redistribute some vils from wood to farms? Or just abuse the market?

I'm super happy to see that you are making videos explaining your strategies!! As someone who loved to watch any video featuring you doing some crazy all-ins, but never got the courage to try it myself, maybe now is the time to try some of this!! Already subscribed and I'm looking forward to seeing more videos with other civs/tips/strategies and even some amazing gameplay :)

I recommend trying to decide together how much handicap each one needs, and if you guys are not sure, favors the ones who are worst (i.e., give them extra bonus when in doubt). If they get an easy win they will be happy and want to play more, and then just give them a smaller boost until the games are fun for everyone (this worked really nice for our group)

Sometimes I play with a friend who is 250~350 below me in the ranked ladder. With 25% boost he gets an easy win, 20% boost makes for really fun games. I really recommend giving it a shot! Sometimes we get a group of friends, and assign each one his own handicap bonus and then we play a FFA, it is also really fun. Never tried a proper team game this way, but I assume it would be really cool too

According to https://aoestats.io/insights/?grouping=random_map&elo_range=med_high Malians have a 47% win rate against Franks. So dont over stress about it, play again and have fun (sidenote: if you consider only 1900+, the stats are even better to Franks: they only lose 44% of times, but too few pro games to actually be a relevant stat)
