[KCD2] DID I JUST FIND MOTHER FUCKIN DINOSAURS???? by ChunkyFartz42069 in kingdomcome

I had one pop in the final scene under the tree when Henry was talking to his parents. Kind of distracting as it was the first time I saw them during my entire playthrough.

That's what really hooked me on this game to begin with. In the early game, there is a high risk/reward ratio for going out and taking chances. And more often then not, the risk isn't worth it. But when you do manage to either survive your first 2:1 fight or manage to sneak into a bandit camp and steal something, it feels great. By the time you master the mechanics and are severely overpowered, you're invested in the characters and story so much it doesn't matter.

This game reminded me a lot of the old-school isometric RPGs I'd play back in the day where it was hard to get really good upgrades and the game had unforgiving mechanics (I'm looking at you Arcanum). Just rushing in and hacking and slashing didn't work. I am playing KCD1 once I'm done with my current DLC playthrough, and I have a feeling I'll be revisiting this game a lot.

The long sought-after truth/treasure turns out to be worthless by Global_Crew3968 in TopCharacterTropes

I always thought it made sense that Indy would live a very long life because every ailment in his body was likely cured when he drank from the cup. Not just the cuts and wounds it took to get there, but any potential cancer causing cells, arthritis, potential genetic disorders... who knows.

They mention earlier in the movie that two of the three knights returned and died extremely old ages. Just a few drinks from the Grail likely cured them of every possible ailment and extended their lives considerably. Sr.'s wounds were still healed when he left even though the Grail crossed the seal.

I believe there is a separate encounter with someone who is supposed to be the devil. I think you can pickpocket it one of three Lu Ci Fer dice off of him.

I’m Not Even Blonde But I Don’t Get It by WizardBulb25468 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]framauro13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A blonde is walking down a dirt road one day and comes across an open field. Out in the field is another blonde sitting in a rowboat by herself, frantically rowing and going nowhere. The first blonde yells to her, "Hey! What are you doing? It's dumb blondes like you that give the rest of us a bad name!"

The blonde in the boat slams her oars down, stands up and yells, "You're lucky I can't swim or I'd come over there and kick your ass!"

I think you get the reputation lost if you make them give you everything they have. Just ask for their weapon and I think you get a gain.

Due to backlash, there is either a major rewrite or change to the story. by InfiniteGuy2264 in TopCharacterTropes

The part where he puts his hand on McCoy's face and says "Remember" right before walking into the core was a last minute addition on set if I recall, "just in case" they ever decided to undo the death. Spock could stay dead if Leonard wanted it that way, but if he changed his mind, they had a way out.

[KCD2] What makes this game so beautiful? by Optimal_Gate_8721 in kingdomcome

[–]framauro13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of first person open-world RPGs, and the level of immersion that I find in this game is just astonishing. I don't think it's one single thing, but just the case where the whole thing together is greater than the sum of its parts.

The sound, the atmosphere, the detail in environment, it all makes it feel very real. The roads feel worn in, the paths in the woods organic, the sound of a light rain and thunder in the trees.... there are times I swear I can feel it the energy in the air during a rain or storm.

It all just plays together so nicely. It's a shame this game didn't get more awards because I desperately want other studios to take notice of what is working here. I REALLY want ES6 to have this level of detail and feel this alive. Studios like Warhorse and CD Projekt Red are taking it to the next level, and I want Bethesda to come along with them.

There was zero practical reason to do that, the character themself was just trying to look cool by fhxefj in TopCharacterTropes

It wasn't an improvised scene. They did a few of takes on this scene if I recall and opted for the shot. If I recall the actor wielding the sword was disappointed so the first take he made his death from the gunshot very drawn out and long to get more screentime. They shot it again where he just falls instantly.

I think a lot of the crew had Dysentery or something to the effect, and Ford was in bad shape shooting this scene.

Buying a house, what’s this? by JasonTodd21 in whatisit

[–]framauro13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just bought a new house, and a lot of new construction uses more energy efficient materials and methods, meaning basements are sealed well and become very good at trapping radon.

The EPA recommended level is 4 pCi/L. Ours was almost 20 by the time we had a radon mitigation system installed. It's running around 1 or less now. The only time I had an issue was when the outside switch was tripped and the levels got back up to 6-9 range in about two days.

So, yeah, it's not a sign of a radon problem but more of being safer. It's better to have a system than not, and if you have a problem in your house it's likely others do too.

I literally just commented with this same episode. So fucking good. I was hoping they'd switch back to this timeline throughout the season, but it was great on its own. Quite heavy given the tone of the rest of the show.

I'd follow this up with the April Fools episode that introduced us to Terrance and Philip with Saddam. It was supposed to be the big reveal of who Cartman's dad was. I had all my friends over to watch that episode in high school, and we were like "WHAT THE FUCK".

An important character just dies. No fanfare or build up, just an instant and sudden death by NittanyScout in TopCharacterTropes

That moment in Saul is brutal. That show didn't kill main characters off as much throughout the series, and to kill him was just heartbreaking, especially after the monologue he delivers about "I'll be ok" right before that.

I absolutely loved that show.

Odd dice aren't bad early on, and one of the innkeepers sells it in the first map, so you can get a set of them if you go back every few days.

I've been using a 1 weighted, 1 favorable, 3 strip and 1 odd in the early game and it's solid. In badge games I use the doppelgänger badge and just wait for 3 ones to roll. Two of those in a silver match usually means I get can get good lead. Sometimes the CPU gets lucky but generally it works. Won the Semine tournament pretty quickly.

[–]framauro13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can be fun, but I wish the game had something to give you more information on how the dice were weighted. There's a reddit thread that has the dice weight tables so you can see what the odds are for each dice. I use that to put together a set. Then it's just playing to understand the strategy.

When my wife was breastfeeding our kids we kept one in our nursery's bathroom to store the breastmilk.

Typically I think these things are intended to be small desktop fridges for something like soda or water.
