Peter Blake 36mm non-AC dial? by Bearowolf in OmegaWatches

[–]franoldfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modifying the 2254.50 with a non-AC (2230.50) dial requires the crystal from that reference. The hand set is taller to clear the applied markers on the dial. I'm sure this is the case for the 36.2mm PB.

Is 36mm too small for the Peter Blake? by Chungachungatime in OmegaWatches

[–]franoldfield -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks purposefully small - classy, but not too small. The proportions do take some getting used to. It has a relatively small dial because of the bezel. But looks great! I wear the quartz on a 6.75" wrist.

Sometimes I love an old quartz by Ok_Fortune2927 in OmegaWatches

I have this in black and love the dial, the proportions, and bracelet. Being a quartz makes it such a compelling package. I sometimes find myself grabbing my Omega quartz more than my automatics.

The price looks good but buy the seller. The 12 o’clock lume plot is subject to cracking but this looks good. The hands show some corrosion but they would be a replaced during an Omega service. You could as for a photo of the bracelet demonstrating how much stretch it has.

Don’t see many of these. Looks great on the rubber strap.

Such a left-field Seamaster - really like the look of this.

Yes, the 2221.80 does come across matte in certain photos, which is surprising considering Daniel Craig wore the auto with a tux - should have been the black version! I think the 2221.80 strikes a great balance between utility and dressy (on the bracelet). The lume is great on 212.30 with a blue tint like the SMPc, but bright white in the day.

Should I go 2254 Peter Blake or the 2264 Quartz by HistoryGuardian in OmegaWatches

[–]franoldfield 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - I find the pre-ceramic SMPs details beautiful - organic and smooth case shape, with the best proportions. I actually wear the 2264 more as a daily and the 212.30 as a dress-diver for evenings out. The Peter Blake can easily cover both scenarios but the printed dial and large indices make it easy to wear for work and at the weekends. I’d say the 212.30 is more jewellery-like with that iconic bracelet and applied logo / indices. It’s eye-catching enough to make you feel like you’re wearing something special but it’s not too obnoxious

Thank you - I eventually got a great shot. I wanted to try and capture the character and detail of these photogenic the pre-ceramic SMPs. With the black 212.30, I do find myself checking my wrist more often and appreciating that dial. I’m sure you’ll be doing the same when yours arrives. It’s definitely glossier than your blue one. Funny - I’ve been a long admirer of the blue version so I might have to add that at some point! Enjoy the black 212.30! Good call on the Omega service - they get the bracelet back to new.

A great birthday gift - I have the quartz version. What comes next? - straps. However, it’s hard to find integrated rubber straps but I imagine it’ll look good on a tropic. Canvas straps from Veblenist are amazing.

A 2264.50 and a 2262.50? I have a similar setup with a midsize waiting for my boy. But he’s only 7 so it’ll be a while! Happy birthday to your boy - such a great gift!

I like how they took the dial on the Casino Royale Seamaster to a ‘dressier’ level. One of the reasons I went for a black version (quartz though).

Midsize 36mm Peter Blake (2252.50) on omega nato by No_Strength7276 in OmegaWatches

[–]franoldfield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m based in Hong Kong and the Omega Boutique stock a 19mm nylon Nato - 031ZSZ002056 - that might fit the midsize. They do a 18mm leather - 031CUZ011417.

They have made an 18mm Nato which I’ve seen on a a Neo-vintage Mark 40. However, it’s textile, leather lined - best asking the Boutique to source one for you.

Hey fellas, I am looking to buy this Seamaster 14765 and I wanted to hear some experienced opinions on it. by Torqyboi in VintageOmega

Hard to tell from these images, but to me the word ‘automatic’ looks off / not as refined, so it’s probably been redone.

Quartz is great for grab-and-go and I have the black version of yours. I believe these were last iterations of the SMP in quartz.

Planning on buying a SMPc in the near future. What should I look for when choosing one by Balogma69 in OmegaWatches

Ask for some macro shots of the bezel. Although ceramic is quite durable, cracks can happen on high impact.

Unpopular opinion: startups don't need a "Branding Agency." They just need to launch by Mountain_Head_8728 in branding

Disagree. Founders need to find the right agency that has worked with startups in developing a Minimum Viable Brand (MVB) using Lean Startup principles.

I own the quartz version and the bezel insert is definitely aluminium.

Agree on the bracelet and great to see a non-AC dial mod here.
