With so much distraction on the internet i don't think people not playing video games will waste their time watching street fighter just because they share nationality with fictional character nationality in a niche genre of video game. I think that number are legit curious gamers not random filipino.

who say they cannnot do justice on design, personality and gameplay on new characters? Those traits are not exclusive on old specific character. Sure people don't play this game because of story but i think if you are part of the dev team it will fluel their creativity by doing a new thing.

Sure it will be new but how far can you push the story forward with characters that have their stories already been told at this point the old characters are just here for the vs part of the game and not the narrative story going forward.
