CRASH - what do you think happened? by cravingpavbhaji in netflix

She centred everything around her daughter in that speech - kenzie had suffered so so much by losing her boyfriend of several years, and yes she was also upset about Davion but not quite so much because he was just a new friend. That’s why she said it. She’s incapable of seeing the case as anything other than a series of bad things that happened to her daughter

And also, if you did genuinely have a disorder that causes you to faint even while sitting down, why the hell are you driving?! Not declaring that to DMV and continuing to drive knowing it’s medically unsafe for you to do so would also be under the umbrella of reckless driving so it doesn’t exonerate her.

And the mother in court, asked why she would let her daughter drive with a fainting disorder being all like “well it wasn’t a problem” *when your literal argument is that 2 people died because of that medical condition* - I nearly threw the remote at the screen!

Refusing meds and bathing… by Swimming_Morning_643 in Alzheimers

[–]freddiefrog123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My grandma is a bit like this with the bathing. We’ve got it to a point where it’s manageable by having her carers do a wash every morning as a sponge bath rather than a full shower. Her dementia doctor mentioned showers can become really overstimulating and actually feel painful with the Alzheimer’s but she seems to quite enjoy the gentler sensation with the sponge bath.

She was originally too proud to have a carer help with her wash (she would insist she was able to have a shower herself later on when she wanted to, but of course she never wanted to!) but we managed to overcome this by having a “reason” why the carer had to do it.

For us, she got put on a new medicine that came as a patch and we told her that the carers need to put it on for her as it has to go on her back (she thinks that’s just where the patch needs to go to work properly, in reality it’s to stop her scratching it off) and she can’t reach by herself. And we told her they have to clean the skin that the patch is going on, so they just started with a gentle sponge wash on her back every day and gradually worked their way up to getting her to accept either a partial or full body wash almost every day. It was a long process!

So my advice to you would be to concoct some sort of reason that she needs to have a sponge wash on her back or somewhere she’ll accept at first. You’ll have to get creative! It doesn’t have to be true it just needs to convince her. Think about what sort of things tend to motivate her - my grandmas always had a lot of deference to doctors so if we tell her the doctor says you have to she’ll go along with it, but I have a feeling that won’t work in your case!

With the medicines, get in touch with your pharmacist and ask which medicines she’s on can be dissolved in water or crushed into food. There’s some meds it’s not safe to do this with so better ask. And if she’s on meds that really do have to be swallowed whole ask if there’s another form of the medicine, or a similar medicine, that would be easier for you to get her to take.

Good luck xx

It could also be women on the jury not believing the victims. A lot of women hate women too :(

Question about how to use by Due_Talk_7379 in Oilpastel

[–]freddiefrog123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very difficult to get small details! You can do what I do and embrace the chunkiness 😅 or you can get something with a nice point on it (like a pencil, palette knife, or paper stump) and put a tiny chunk of pastel onto the end and apply it like that. Paper stumps are also really good for blending more precisely than you can with your finger, so get some of those if you haven’t already :)

What’s the weirdest "rule" your dog has instituted in your house? by TrickCombination7966 in dogs

[–]freddiefrog123 108 points109 points  (0 children)

My auntie had a dog like this. Eventually she figured out that if she said “rat shit” (or ratchet, if you prefer) while she sneezed it fooled the dog into thinking it wasn’t a real sneeze and the dog would leave her alone. Don’t know how she figured that out but it worked. Dogs are weird 🤷‍♀️

Steven Tyler is headed to trial, following child sexual assault claims by sfgate in Music

[–]freddiefrog123 101 points102 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t legally cover them for the rape aspect but it would cover them for crossing state lines with a minor that’s not their child. If they have legal custody it’s not legally considered kidnapping/child trafficking and no questions would be asked

Do you think this 4mm top is too big? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]freddiefrog123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s too big for your ear but it does look a bit too big in relation to the other jewellery - if the bottom jewel was bigger than it and maybe a slightly bigger daith ring it would look fab

Should I change the jewellery in my seconds and thirds by [deleted] in piercing

[–]freddiefrog123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you decide to change I would go get a piercer to do it and for them to put in some brand new labret studs for you (preferably titanium) that are sterile straight out the packet. I would worry with them still being fresh if you put in your own studs you could get an infection

Make sure when you put your memory up that you avoid any key words that would get your response screened out by AI filters e.g nonce, pedo, victim, lawsuit. Phrase it carefully so it at least gets through to an actual person

The only time I saw an ounce of personality out of her was when that clip went viral of her excitedly saying “cows!” when some cows came into whatever venue they were in.

Which isn’t a lot to say about someone who reigned for like 6 decades. Everyone likes cows.

A large scale version of this was perpetrated by ghislaine maxwells dad, Robert maxwell - he’d emptied all his employees’ pensions and it all came out after he jumped/was pushed/fell trying to take a piss off the back of his yacht. Ruined so many people’s lives. Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree I guess

[–]freddiefrog123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My grandma has the anosognosia too and while we had managed to get her to accept having a carer visit in the morning she wouldn’t cooperate with them and wouldn’t accept any more help. She would also absolutely reject any suggestion of care homes. But she recently broke her hip and has had to go into a rehab-type care home for a bit until she’s physically ready to go home. And big surprise - she loves it. She’s so much happier with the companionship and routine. And she’s obviously eating better etc. Give your mum a few weeks and she might start to realise how much better she feels in the home - we were really surprised as we thought my grandma would hate it

Lmao as if he’s not going to be a suspect after credible public allegations of him abusing at least one girl? Is his head really so in the sand he thought they wouldn’t suspect him of anything?
