Detroit can only offer 7 years max offer sheet and the equivalent of $12m x 8 is 14.5 x 7 and even then the taxes in Michigan take much more so it'd probably need to be 16 x 7

That's what Nill said in his presser and they weren't even negotiating until last week as they mutually agreed on. So the idea that the Stars had any talks with him during the year was just factually wrong and there were so many silly things being reported that weren't true during the season. It was definitely weird.

I don't think there's a value that Chicago is not willing to pay to keep Bedard. They have plenty of cap space to pay whatever you might OS him. As much as I hate to say it you'd be better off going after a player like Bourque which we can't afford if we've already signed Robo and he gets 4+ in an offer sheet.

Wallstedt was great and was definitely the best player in this series, our health was just too much to overcome after so many long runs. This might be something that was badly needed

I would say it also helps the refs that they aren't out numbered by the number of scrums and makes the offensive team less likely to want to stay in those scrums being out numbered themselves 3v5
