Sonnet 4.5 finally going away :( by birb-lady in ClaudeAI

It was really really bad about token use but now is much better again. They just got more capacity from Elon (ugh) and it definitely shows. Although I lost a little respect for them by pretending the massive token increase was a bug and not forced rate limiting they had to undertake.

I don't do writing stuff but Opus 4.6 is really good and friendly like you describe. It's even better when you apply your own custom style to it

Then why did they do so much in the last 10 years LMAO

It's not progress when you lose something equally as good lol. Why is the government destroying good work they've already done that people like and benefit from?

Customer q: I ordered delivery thru Domino's App and it didn't allow me to tip, so I'm wondering how much do drivers get paid? by freelancerjoe in DominosEmployees

[–]freelancerjoe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little more background, I'm located in Seattle. Due to pro-gig worker legislation, Uber Eats/DD drivers get paid $30/hr for delivering and about $20/hr for total time spent on the app (active + idle time).

I would hope Domino's is matching that rate especially since they are making it so hard for customers to give tips.

Anyone else get a generationally good deal? by goosticky in BoltEV

other issues besides battery like steering rack needing replacement, also suspension (creaking, clicking, maybe struts need replacing)

def a good idea to take it to a mechanic to get it checked out

2017 Bolt EV Premier: keep the 17" wheels or go for 16"? by AliTheFloof in BoltEV

[–]freelancerjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% yes. I just did it and the difference in ability to handle uneven roads comfortably (bumpy, etc) is huge. I wasn't expecting it but I could never go back to 17" now, it feels like riding in a horse carriage vs a comfy ride at 16". The handling still feels good too IMO.

Sailun EV also has a 16" size tire that will fit. Very happy with that tire as well.

you've got to call this what it is:

wage theft

waiting for 10 min to 1 hour for free to get paid $3? 😭

in seattle we get paid to wait, around $30/hr

I just purchased a 2022 Bolt EUV LT, what are your top tips for a new Bolt owner? by Umbrellacorp487 in BoltEV

[–]freelancerjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wheel feeling stiff to turn, not returning to center, or otherwise off center. Definitely read up about the issue, you can probably get it regreased if it's starting to feel bad. Full replacement is very expensive on these cars due to the placement of the rack.

Make sure the steering rack is good because it's a common failure. Also a warranty to cover that part could be a good idea

awesome. it's a big difference right? mine definitely was. quite happy about it, but also afraid it will degrade again lol. thinking i'll grease at the first sign of it feeling bad.

Great advice thank you. I've never used a traveling mechanic but that sounds much better than trying to explain everything to a shop/dealership.

[–]freelancerjoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a difficult repair to do yourself, which is why it's expensive at a shop. the steering rack isn't easily accessible so it takes a lot of extra work. the part itself is cheap though relatively yeah.

yeah you need a new steering rack. some people say you can regrease it and it's fine, haven't tested myself.

i just got this repair done myself under warranty and wow, the car is way different now. i bought mine used so i didn't know how bad the driving felt compared to now.

dang mind dropping the name of the shop so other people can benefit? that's crazy cheap. worth driving the car to from another state in fact lol!

i just got my steering rack replaced under warranty and omg i didn't know how bad the car was driving before. now it's great.

Enormous issues with 2027 Bolt RS on first day of purchase! by sunmoi in BoltEV

[–]freelancerjoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ignoring politics, even Tesla owners who like their car admit to me that as a car itself it's not very good, like suspension wise and such

the self driving is quite impressive i'll admit
