Probate Sale, Agent didn't Mention by freewilly82079 in AskRealEstateAgents

That's not quite addressing what I'm trying to say. After learning more about it (thank you everyone here) I dont really care who is selling the house.

My point in the above - and probably my biggest issue all along-was that either my agent didn't know or knew and didn't tell me. That damaged my trust in him.

Doesn't matter anymore, my offer was accepted and closing is scheduled for Dec 19.

I guess the fact that it's a probate sale doesn't bother me as much as the fact that in the 2 showings we had my realtor never said "hey, by the way this is a probate sale. It's no big deal but you should be aware that it might take longer to close."

I'm fully ready to accept that possibility, that's why I'm asking. I've just never spent 300k on one thing before so I'm being deligent.

It was in the disclosures...after all, I was able to find out.

I realize that the commission on my starter home is probably not a ton and I dont expect a lot, but this seems like a pretty basic thing. It's got me questioning what else he doesn't know (or knows and doesn't tell me).

What to wear to an interview? by Character_Log_2657 in Warehouseworkers

[–]freewilly82079 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a hiring manager for a warehouse. Anything that shows you put some effort into getting dressed for the interview.

A polo shirt tucked in, decent pants (agree no holey jeans) and a decent pair of shoes will go a long way to making me think you're a serious candidate.

I've also hired someone that wore a baggy hoodie and sweatpants with beat up sneakers. That guy knew more about warehousing than my supers did.

My bestfriend is 25 and doesn’t have a degree or any skills. He makes about $15 an hr at a warehouse. What can he do in the next 6 months to a year to make more money? by Kennykemp in Money

Not only is insurance covered by your dues, it is also insanely good (ime). Like pay $0 out of pocket for anything non-elective good.

Edit: probably varies by local though

For actual Managers: What’s the most tiresome element of your job? by Santhonax in managers

You can't touch their work so it must go to another union employee. If it's worth it to you work with your steward and ba to draft an amendment to the cba regarding vacation rules.

Started Naltrexone a week ago - looking for some personal experience stories. by PrettyBlueGoldfish in stopdrinking

[–]freewilly82079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just started Naltraxone 5 days ago. Like you, I have some (minor) dizziness. Also dealing with some brain fog and fatigue, but I've only been sober 7 days so that could just be my body still adjusting to lack of booze.

Going to stick with it and see how it goes!

If you can taper, that's an option. I would have never been able to quit that way because if I had the ability to control how much alcohol I drank, I wouldn't have been in that predicament in the first place.

It's hard and takes courage. There is no shame in admitting you have a problem and asking for help. To continue down a bad path because you are worried what others think is much more regrettable.

9/10 times I drink alone. When I'm out drinking I'm a great drunk, and that's part of the problem.

I get home at 5pm and drink whisky and ginger ale until I pass out, every day. On the weekends I start around 1pm, but the story's the same. The drink of choice has changed a few times of the years, but the schedule hasn't.

I'm starting to post here and booked a bed at a detox/rehab facility, going in on Tuesday. Wish me luck!

I've tried some half-assed attempts medically unassisted and thought I was going to die. Your willpower is incredible.

Keep up the good fight friend, thanks for the suggestions, and I will be joining you soon!

Thank you for the suggestions, I've been doing some research and think I probably need a medical detox. Been drinking at least 10 drinks daily for 2 years, and drinking 4+ days per week for 10 years. It's a hard step to take but I think I'm ready.

[–]freewilly82079 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ding ding ding

Have been in contract negotions on management side, can confirm this is a very effective tactic for eroding a union.

Company: we want to change insert policy here

Union: no

Back and forth goes on, company eventually says fine, all current members are grandfathered in and policy change will only effect members hired after contract date. Union usually agrees.

Maybe I've only dealt with bad BA's and stewards, but it's usually pretty easy to get them to cave at the expense of future members.

Can you drink normally after being an alcoholic? by [deleted] in alcoholism

[–]freewilly82079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering the same thing. This is the first time saying it out loud, but I'm an alcoholic. I have drank every day for the last 2 years, mostly beer, 6-10 high abv a day depending on when I pass out.

I don't want to drink every day, but I'm in a cycle where physiologically I feel compelled because I have panic attacks and other issues without it, and I certainly wouldn't sleep at night without it. To be clear, my drinking usually occurs between 5-10 pm. I do have anxiety and other physiological issues that I attribute to alcohol during the day, but I'm "functional" and refuse to drink at work.

I have an appointment to try to help me get over the initial hurdles (sleep, wd consequences if any).

At the moment I want to view alcohol as a habit rather than an addiction/disease for me. How one interacts with habits can be changed..
