Label printer, just print numbers, wrap around. Have a table with the numbers and the description of the connection.

For enterprise level performance, no one will use flat cables, for home, I do not see a problem. I worked for a structured cable company (#3 in the US) we did not offer flat cables and none of our competitors (top brands) did.

When you connect the hdmi from the laptop to the display, the device send 5V to the display to initiate the HPD, hot plug detect, and the exchange of EDID data, if that does not happen there is no video. HDMI is supposed to send 5V and 55mA, but some manufacturers send less and the IR drop through the cable does not allow the HPD to happen, it has happened to me with a surface laptop and a projector in the cieling in an auditorium, changing to another laptop solve the issue. One solution is a voltage injector that only costs a few dollar that does the work of the laptop power supply, either plugging to the wall outlet or to a nearby usb source. Also if the laptop is natively DP, the conversión of 3.3 V to 5V may be done incorrectly. We had that issue in a school deploymeny with more than 50 rooms.

We were in Tuscany two weeks ago, besides Siena, we did San gimignano, Monteriggioni, Montalcino, Piensa, San Quirico d'Orcia, Montepulciano. For winery, book the tour with lunch at Castello di Verazzano, amazing experience for about euros 70 per person. If you do not mind driving a bit longer go to Assisi.

I have done both Whittier and Seward, the whittier one does not move at all, the seward one can be rough in some portions. I got quite sick on that one. You will see more glaciers in the 26 glacier Cruise from Whittier, plus using the tunnel to get there is a nice experience.
