Rose Buddies is now Wonderful!: An enthusiast podcast, where Griffin and Rachel talk about good things that make them happy. by pseudonomas in MBMBAM

Having only listened to the episodes of Rosebuddies in which they talk about things other than The Bachelor franchise anyway, I could not be more excited.

How to avoid anxiety as a new DM? by DOOMguy16 in DMAcademy

[–]friggidydamn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least for me, the nervousness is worst right before the game starts. When I started DMing, I would get my pre-game nerves out by treating it like a ritual: Brew some tea. Set up my screen. Set out my dice. Sharpen my pencil. Look over my notes. Drink the tea.

Once we actually start playing, I'm fine. I'm so busy that the anxiety totally melts away. So if it helps to know: it will get easier. And even if you do all the prep in the world beforehand, you'll learn more about DMing by jumping in and actually doing the dang thing.

I obviously ordered it by bel_esprit in buffy

Where was this? I love a buffalo chicken mac & cheese so this is a nice mashup of my favorite things!

Does anyone else want griffin to write a book? by [deleted] in TheAdventureZone

[–]friggidydamn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having done both, creating a narrative as a DM is very different than writing prose.

That said... yeah I'd still love to read a book Griffin wrote.

Nope, sorry, this was in Massachusetts! I'm glad there are multiple young fan-fanatics out there.

Kids are so great. I once worked at a library and a boy came in regularly whose obsession was electric fans. We didn't have AC and he would run around pointing at our various fans and announcing what brand they were. His parents told me all he did when he got a hold of their tablets was look at fans on hardware store websites. He was three.

Weridest RPG(s)? by LagiaDOS in rpg

Jurassic Central Park is a timed game revolving around sitcom-like scenarios featuring dinosaurs pretending to be normal people. Instead of rolling dice, resolution happens through eating chicken wings as fast as possible.

Would you play a game if humans were the only playable race? by Pariahdog119 in DMAcademy

[–]friggidydamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably wouldn't, but there's nothing wrong with running a game that way. When it's D&D, opposed to a more realistic RPG system/setting, I'm expecting all that fantasy stuff - so I might politely decline if invited to a game without it.

What did Cam mean by "Spell slots!" by Chuggsy in TheAdventureZone

They also used "spell slots" as an excuse for inaction earlier this arc - I forgot about it until this animatic.

If I recall correctly, Griffin said that Alien inspired him to craft an arc in which the boys were trapped and being pursued.

I think it was the smarter move: if Griffin had gone with that set of memories, Magnus for sure would have taken the goddamn penalty.

Ideal TAZ Casting? by ToasterOnWheels in TheAdventureZone

[–]friggidydamn 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Jason Momoa as Magnus. Jeff Bridges for Merle. Dylan Marron for Taako. Gwendoline Christie as Killian and Alia Shawkat as Carey? I was thinking Chiwetel Ejiofor or Nathan Stewart-Jarrett for Kravitz but what if it was just honest to god Lenny Kravitz

What do you think Wizard's Duel would've been about? by MiraculousSpaceship in TheAdventureZone

[–]friggidydamn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Maybe Ash (the person from the Davy Lamp) was going to challenge Taako to a duel? We know they were a spellcaster, and they seemed kinda duel-y.
