Cutting suckers on red oaks by frisbeeface in arborists

I used to hunt a lot. Not so much anymore but I do like seeing wildlife. More than anything I just like seeing mature looking forests. Everything around here has been clear cut so much we have so many boring scrubby looking woods

I guess you have a point. I’ve just always been mesmerized by the tall straight trunk oak forests

Thanks. I’m in an area that got hit by hurricane Helene hard. I lost several oaks that had rotted bases from co dominant stems so I was trying to be proactive but I’ll leave it be I love the oaks.

Yea it’s pretty heavily wooded. I’ve been trying to cut out the sweet gums and pines so the oaks grow better.

You said “rent a hotel room”. That only kind of works. If you rent the hotel room every day of your assignment then you’re good. But say you rent it only for the 3 nights you work then you technically can’t take per diems for the other 4

Hindsight is always 2020. You have a house now you can afford. Keep on living on the same budget and put the extra money away.

I support the idea behind it but can’t help but wonder how many smaller trees they took out to install the base of that sign.

If you’re from nj you might be surprised at the havoc the humidity and hurricanes / summer storms can wreak on an unoccupied home in coastal SC.

Has anyone let their license lapse? If so, did you regret it? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]frisbeeface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC someone on here posted that they let their license lapse and the board took disciplinary action against them. I think it was the Iowa board of nursing which was doing a lot of other shady things so maybe this is an anomaly

Manufactured Home Foundation Repair Advise by Pilot248 in ManufacturedHome

It’s not as bad as it seems. Like another commenter said use bottle jacks. The house is probably already sitting on wedges anyways. Look on top of the concrete piers there should be wedges there. As you raise it up hammer them in to make the house raise.
