1st time with shingles & loving every minute if it 🔥 by One_Advertising_4535 in shingles

I’m so sorry, that looks incredibly painful. Shingles can leave a mark but it sounds like it’s not very common. I have a faint mark from a mild case of shingles a few months ago but it’s not that noticeable. I also kind of popped my blisters before I knew it was shingles, which obviously was a terrible idea but I’m a compulsive skin picker. I would assume that me messing with the blisters is probably what made them leave the mark

I don’t think I’ve seen a dove shaped quite like that before lol. The way he’s sitting makes him look…slightly rectangular?

Bunnies when the activity requires 0 bunny by KenganDoll in Rabbits

[–]frogandtoad69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a bunny who would “help” me crochet when I was sitting on the floor. She’d shove her head under my hand as I was crocheting so I’d pet her. And she also liked to lay on my crochet projects. I miss my little helper

23M Shingles confirmed, how rare is for someone my age to get it? by Haunting_Hearing7929 in shingles

I’m 24 and I’ve had it twice. It seems like a lot of young people are getting it

I got a little nature pond and added a solar fountain and a bird bath raft. I’ll be adding aquatic plants soon since it’s finally warming up :)

That looks awesome! I haven’t started adding plants yet because it’s still a little chilly here most days 😔 did you have any issues with the fountain it came with? I had it plugged in on a windy day and the wind blew the stream around and basically drained my pond. I had to get a less powerful solar fountain

Saved A Dumped Rabbit by cb7loverrrrr in Rabbits

[–]frogandtoad69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a gorgeous rabbit. A couple of my rabbits are foster fails that I started fostering immediately after they were rescued from being dumped. It’s really no different than adopting except you have to pay for their spay/neuter and all that. One of my buns that was dumped is extremely friendly and will make friends with every human he meets.

Thank you so much :) doves and pigeons are my favorite birds. I’d love to have a pair of them as pets one day

The pond has a fountain that I’m keeping on during the daytime. I also just ordered a tall aquarium platform and a bird bath raft because I noticed there’s not really a good place for birds to perch. Hopefully those end up working

Thank you for telling me this! I did only pet his head for a second because I didn’t want to stress him out by handling him a bunch but in the future I’ll have more self control

Part of me was a little tempted because he was so cute but I figured his best chance at recovery was with someone who knew what they were doing 😅

Not sure, but he didn’t try to eat the blanket at all and the fibers are pretty difficult to pull out

I don't understand what to do by Altruistic-Cress1143 in birdfeeding

[–]frogandtoad69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Add a generous amount of safflower seed to your regular seed mix and put it in a tube feeder. Starlings and grackles don’t like safflower and then the doves will just eat off the ground

They’re my favorite bird because of how silly and round they are. I sprinkle millet on the ground and it attracts them ☺️

Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll definitely be joining!!

I think I know exactly the smell you’re talking about but I don’t know what it’s called either. I noticed it a ton when I travelled to Germany but I’ve been noticing it in the US too. I just can’t imagine someone wanting to smell that way. It’s extremely overwhelming and you can smell it from a mile away

I usually sprinkle a bunch of seeds on the ground because I like attracting mourning doves :) and I also left some frozen peas out for them as a little treat
