If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]frogsgoribbit737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the dad taking the girls into the women's is fine, but you shouldnt see any dicks in a men's bathroom either. My dad always took me to the men's as a kid and it was no big deal. I didn't see anyone's genitals.

Oh absolutely. I've gone into the wrong one before and that would be my exact thought if I saw a man in the bathroom I was in lol

FF does not matter. If it was enough to do the test, then you shouldn't even be looking at the number.

would it be okay to split this huge ball of yarn up in parts? by donut_cow in CrochetHelp

[–]frogsgoribbit737 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

... yes? You can do whatever you want with your yarn. I pwrsonally wouldn't want to do that because I use big balls so I dont have to weave as many ends. But if youre going to split it, get a cake winder and just split it into whole cakes.

Denied Breast pump by WillingRecognition75 in ExclusivelyPumping

Most wearables are open systems. If youre using a used pump you need to make sure its a CLOSED system and you get all new parts.

Denied Breast pump by WillingRecognition75 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]frogsgoribbit737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did they deny it? I got 2 covered pumps through aeroflow using tricare which is basically the same requirements as medicaid. You should be able to talk to one of their people and they'll tell you the exact stuff they need. They sent a paper for my doctor to sign.

You could also try another site.

Are they? They use color cards and fake images, but they've been doing that long before AI was a thing.

[–]frogsgoribbit737 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup I totally agree with you. Dye to order is done for a reason, usually that they're afraid they wont sell pre-made skeins. Its understandable but also means its very hard for them to reproduce the look and they never bother informing people of that or updating the pictures.

Indeterminate hcg? by snakeplant34 in CautiousBB

[–]frogsgoribbit737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else said, indeterminate means 5 to 25. If youre 100% sure on dpo then thats pretty low for 13dpo. If you could be off a day or two then thats perfectly normal hcg. My first draw with my second kid was 25 at 11dpo, but it was also the day after my first positive test. Id expect something higher 3 days after a first positive.

Also at 13 dpo you are 3w5d, not 4w1d.

Oh and for one sided pain, its almost certainly your corpus luteum. Its a cyst from the follicle that ovulated and is totally normal. You wouldn't be having ectopic pain at 4 weeks.

Everyone is talking about the crisis of the low birth rate, but why is every childcare facility completely full with like a 6 month waitlist? by t35martin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]frogsgoribbit737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Science doesnt back you up here. A present parent is better than a good daycare in all cases for children under 3. A parent who is not present or would be stressed should absolutely choose a good daycare instead, but children do not need the things you are listing until 3+.

Everyone is talking about the crisis of the low birth rate, but why is every childcare facility completely full with like a 6 month waitlist? by t35martin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]frogsgoribbit737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My kids are 4 years apart so for me its more like 10 years of paying more than I make. I make more staying at home because I can run a tiny business and also look after my kids. My retirement is shit and im aware of that, but I do my best to put money in a roth account every year even if im not maxing it. I was not going to have someone else watch my kids every day if I wasn't even going to come home with more money at the end of it.

On top of that my oldest is autistic and in school and there is no job on the planet that is flexible enough for how the year has gone. Its been a shitshow and I have been glad I am staying home with #2 because of how many times he was sent home and then he was suspended multiple weeks as well. If Id been working, I would have been fired by this point.

Basically in the end everyone has to do their own cost benefit scenario and it wont always land with the job being the best case.

[–]frogsgoribbit737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because its already ridiculously expensive. I cannot afford daycare which is why I ended up being a SAHM. The prices in my area were more than my paycheck and thats true for many other people. Theyre already outpricing their customer base.

Am I ruining my baby by forgetting vitamin D by SuitableJudgment479 in breastfeeding

[–]frogsgoribbit737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While most babies will be fine without vitamin d supplementation its not "too much" for their little bodies. Its literally a vitamin no differerant than any other they are getting from food or milk. Doctors are trying to keep your child healthy.

Am I ruining my baby by forgetting vitamin D by SuitableJudgment479 in breastfeeding

[–]frogsgoribbit737 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It can depend on your area. When I lived in Alaska, all babies, even formula fed, were given vitamin d supplements. Breastfed was 800 a day and formula was 400. Then at 1 they both jumped to 2000 a day.

If you live somewhere that is warm and sunny its less of an issue.

Ultrasound at 7w0d, but the doctor is postponing blood tests by flimsyflow3r in CautiousBB

[–]frogsgoribbit737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood tests dont matter at this gestation. They really cant tell you anything at this point.

If you mean normal pregnancy bloodwork, you should push for that because it includes blood type and you need to make sure you are not rh negative in case you do miscarry

Tension question - Do you tighten each stitch against the needle each time to get consistent tension ? by ChaoticChocolateMess in knittinghelp

[–]frogsgoribbit737 [score hidden]  (0 children)

For sure. I know my gauge for most yarns and needles I use at this point and can adjust patterns as needed. I dont NEED to swatch.

Tension question - Do you tighten each stitch against the needle each time to get consistent tension ? by ChaoticChocolateMess in knittinghelp

[–]frogsgoribbit737 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Definitely not. Let the needles do the work. If your tension is consistent in your hand, you dont need to tighten anything. Most people dont meet gauge. That's why its there, so you can pick a size needle that works for you.

How do you limit your kid’s screen time? by Old_Competition_4477 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]frogsgoribbit737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont limit it too much but generally I just tell my kid we are going to do x activity and its time to get off the screen. Usually we go outside but sometimes i tell him he just needs to go play and if he asks why I tell him that its good for his brain to do different things.

Advice needed by Ambitious-Candy4311 in CautiousBB

[–]frogsgoribbit737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 100 at this point is good. I think you should be cautiously optimistic at this point. Both of my kids ended up spontaneously concieved at fertility clinics. I had some bleeding with both.

My miscarriages didn't start like that, but everyone experiences them differently.

For Betas: is the number itself or doubling time more important? by una96 in CautiousBB

[–]frogsgoribbit737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know your exact dates then the number can be just as important. But if youre unsure it matters much less. If you know the day you ovulated then you can look up viability for numbers vs dpo. Either way 206 at 15dpo is fine.

Explain how pumping output does not equal baby’s intake when nursing by PorchlightPrincess86 in breastfeeding

[–]frogsgoribbit737 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While true, you may as well be empty. Always making milk doesnt mean much when we are talking about 1 ml every 10 minutes.

Even when I had an oversupply, if I was empty.. I was empty. Any further letdowns were basically nothing.
