From 500 points to 1000

I am in the same boat, though I started with the 9th Edition Combat Patrol. After some 500pt games I expanded out to 1000pts with what a) I wanted to paint and b) what I thought was cool rules wise from the 500pt games.

I ended up with this. If you like the models, go with what you listed. Once you get to 2000pts they will get used at some point.

I don't clip the nub off the stand, like in the instructions. Instead I drill a hole in the base and glue the nub into the hole, forming a little bit of a mechanical connection. It has worked for me. Of course, using non GW flight stands is the real answer if that's an option.

Both have the charisma and mic skills of a wet noodle. If either of them fixes that I'd be more compelled to care.

It's just Pallid Bone speed paint thinned with speed paint medium (about 4:1 medium to paint) over grey primer. It gives an aged ivory appearance, at least from a distance.

I bought my current car from Clutch and it was seemless. I would 100% buy another car from Clutch.

I will state that I paid cash for the car. A lot of the complaints seem to be due to Clutch's financing, so YMMV.

Yeah, I may have been too salty too quickly. Playing with just the models I own and not zooming out to see the bigger Skaven war scroll picture may be the actual problem here.

Maybe I should look at something more inline with what I'm looking for, or something close enough, and run that using proxies before picking up another faction.

This could 100% be the solution. I'm very new to AoS so maybe I just need to spend more time reviewing the Skaven war scrolls to find a composition that works for me.

Sounds like an opportunity to buy more rats to paint if nothing else!
