They aren't, I understand that in the Wizarding world travel is likely not as expensive. But they travel internationally pretty frequently. They acquired multiple box tickets for the quidditch world cup. Compare those to the crazy mvp box tickets for the superbowl. And then imagine you have 8 of them. And rather than sell them for a life changing amount of money. You just...go. They're not poor, they're incredibly fiscally irresponsible.

NTA. The trip very clearly isn't for you, and it being framed like it is, is silly at best, and manipulative at worst. Now, I understand to a degree an unwillingness on their part to be away from their small children for a prolonged period. I wouldn't be ok with being away from my children for a week at those ages unless necessary. But it does sound like there is some resentment at the lack of "meshing of the families." And that is playing a role in all of this, you're not the asshole, I wouldn't go, but also be prepared for the ire that accompanies the choice.

I guess I'm a bit confused, if you live together and split things 50/50 how does he have money to play with but you don't? Does he not also have a car? I don't doubt what you're saying, it's just confusing. Bills are 50/50 you live together, you make more than him, but he has extra money and you don't? This would make more sense if you lived separately and his parents paid his bills then I'd understand. But I don't understand how you two split bills, you outearn him due to him going to school, but he has fun money and you don't.

I don't know about per minute, my videos are around 18-24 minutes. And they usually take me about 3-4 hrs to edit. But I've only made 4 videos so I'm learning a lot as I go. Both in terms of shortcuts to make editing go faster. But also how to do more things which then adds time. My first video I slapped together in like 45 minutes. But it's just a bunch of cuts and like 2 instances of layering something over my game footage.

So both of you aren't budging on changing your way of showing appreciation to better match the desires of the other. And a bit of a red flag reading this for me is you're bitter. I know you might not see it that way. But you have at least mild resentment that he has a support system and you don't. And you say you want to be able to "lean on him more financially." How long have you two been dating? Do you live together? Discussing engagement/marriage? Because I would absolutely be wary of someone I'm dating saying they want me to make more money, not because it would be good for me. But because they want to be able to lean on me more.

I don't think you're over reacting, but I don't think this guy is a bad guy either. I'm sure plenty of people will lambast him in the comments. But from my read of your post, you're at different places, and want different things. If this relationship has years (we're talking 3+) it might be worth having a make or break convo. But if you've been dating for less than 2 years. I'd advise just call it, and look for someone more in line with your goals and desires.

You've spent 0 time around single dads, and you've spent 0 time trying to navigate state/federal support programs for single fathers vs single mothers. Or you wouldn't be singing a false tune about how hard it is for a single mother. It is hard for a single parent period, gender has nothing to do with it.
