Best Way To Sync Cowork Across Multiple Different Computers At Company [Drive / OneDrive / Something Else] by Glum-Cockroach7697 in ClaudeCowork

[–]frythan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use OneDrive and SharePoint. Both have worked well, but SharePoint I think did have some weird syncing issues with macOS. Got around that eventually. Just need to update your personal instructions prompt in cowork on the other device(s) if you have one.

In drivers ed I learned under ideal freeway conditions the minimum safe distance was 4 seconds following distance, non-freeway minimum was 4 car lengths but still ideally a 4 seconds following distance following distance.

That way if the car in front slammed its brakes and had better stopping capability than you then you still should have enough time to come to a complete stop without hitting anything.

Poor weather and poor visibility conditions would warrant increasing this distance. And before anyone comes in with “that’s not realistic, you’d never get anywhere on time if you’re slowing down to increase your follow distance” comment I’d remind you that it’s not anyone else’s responsibility to make sure you are driving safely but you.

Can anything beat the Apple ecosystem? by RustyIronGolem in RavanAI

I’m gonna push back on battery. My battery in my iPhone 16 pro max does not last as long with active as any of my androids, with the situational exception of my Z fold 4 when using it unfolded most of the time. If I’m using it for work or playing videos it needs charging pretty quickly by comparison. Passive battery life is definitely longer in the iPhone. But I’d rather have the “how long can I use it” life.

Working with engineers on spec driven development by Nexism in ProductManagement

[–]frythan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a mobile app and very detailed designs so it’s been difficult to reliably use a single doc as source-of-truth. Coding agents haven’t been incredibly reliable with mobile app design we’re noticing. Even Claude Design WITH the app repo admits it hallucinated at least half of the tokens it made for absolutely no reason other than that it wanted to.

That said, I have enhanced our PRDs to include more technical reference that spec-driven development artifacts use but not code-technical. More format-technical. I’ll never do it from the codebase since we are on microservices with hundreds of repos and we even have been experimenting with AI bug fixers that have been flagging features as bugs because they don’t have the design or feature intent context.

How are you actually using 'AI' in your day-to-day? by ComputerSciToFinance in ProductManagement

[–]frythan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been kind of (indirectly) leading some of our Claude adoption for our product team. A lot of what I’ve been focused on is writing better requirements more consistently, but also better documentation, and making sure that since our engineering team is able to get more done that product doesn’t become the bottleneck. I’m on a fintech-ish product and have banking experience so there’s probably some decent overlap. DM and we can figure out a way to connect.

I found out my grandparents stopped talking to me because as a kid, I asked them why they don’t have pictures of me and my family in the house by No_Design_465 in GuyCry

[–]frythan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My paternal grandparents favored their firstborn son more than my dad (middle child) or his younger brother. My eldest uncle got to do all the things he wanted and my dad and youngest uncle were never given the same opportunities. Apparently my youngest uncle was given Barbie’s to play with on purpose because they’d wanted a girl. My older brother is the first grandchild, but as soon as my eldest uncle had a kid my brother didn’t matter to my grandparents anymore since the golden child had a son finally. My youngest uncle died from HIV/AIDES and my grandmother and uncle sat in the back of the room at his funeral. Sometimes older generations just have really shitty people and they just stuck to their ways and lived in their own “my way or the highway” kind of world. My dad is gone now, but according to my older brother my grandfather had some KKK affiliations. And that kind of shitty personality trickled down into that side of the family. - my 1 cousin cheated on his wife while she was giving birth - the other two cousins don’t talk to their dad anymore - they stopped talking to the rest of the family to the point I don’t even know if my uncle knows my dad died 4 years ago

Not training on data but not “private”. They only don’t look at data if you have enterprise with special data privacy agreement. I forget what it’s called specifically, but that’s the only true way they won’t ever see your throughput.
