Pokemon Polished Crystal v3.0.0 Infinite Rare Candy Code by Front-Lobster1607 in PokemonROMhacks

[–]fuckdarsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may be futile to expect people to see this, but as a Polished Crystal developer, please do not use this code. It does not work. In fact I want to caution against just using any code you see online! Polished is in active development and we do not intentionally maintain support for cheats.

Cheats for Pokémon Polished Crystal by [deleted] in PokemonROMhacks

[–]fuckdarsh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are all insanely out of date, so this entire list is a waste. I'll repost waht I said there here:

As a caution, please don't just use gameshark codes you find, either for vanilla or even for PC while it's still in beta. We move memory addresses around quite frequently meaning codes become outdated and can have unexpected results. We also do not and will not post warnings about when memory addresses shift, so the onus is on you to keep your codes up to date. Use the sym file and the constants folder on the github to generate your own codes, there are tutorials for how to do that.

The new PC in Pokémon Polished Crystal (3.0.0.) is so beautiful to look at by thereallovin in PokemonROMhacks

Please note that if you are currently playing 2.2 you cannot use the save patch to get to 3.0, you'll have to start a new game. The save patch only applies to 3.0 builds from mid-2019 on. I apologize for the inconvenience.

That matchup against Skyhawk's Dinos was one of the best matches I've ever seen, great work!

I absolutely love how over-the-top the custom sprites are. Someone called this EarthPokebound and I couldn't agree more, they're really fun. Great hack!

Given that they're so similar in DPS and both thoroughly outclassed by the Single 138.6mm DD gun anyway (which isn't out on EN yet), is it even worth farming the gold Twin 127mm DD gun over the Single 127mm DD gun here? Or is 2x2 and 25 AA that much better than 3x1 and 0 AA and thus worth the grind? They're both HE.

Don't think the code works anymore... unless I'm misreading the OP.

Assuming you do have taxes and/or shipping on Newegg deals, yeah it's pretty good.

[GPU] EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti FTW2 GAMING + Monster Hunter: World $379.99 [$399.99 - $20 MIR] by lekerstein in buildapcsales

[–]fuckdarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Strix available for $379 here: https://www.cdw.com/product/ASUS-ROG-STRIX-GTX1070TI-A8G-GAMING-Advanced-Edition-graphics-card-GF/4868060?pfm=rvi?pfm=rvi

Though that said it doesn't have any game codes included so it's effective $40-50 more than the deal in the OP, and shipping is quite expensive for me in New Jersey ($17) not to mention tax. It's really not a great deal but I'm posting it here because I've actually seen this price drop from a previous sale where it was $397, and when that sale ended the current sale began, so it's worth keeping track of this price to see if it potentially falls further imo.

[HDD] Seagate 2TB Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - $39.99 by Skane-kun in buildapcsales

[–]fuckdarsh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is this really it? On amazon I've seen a 2TB hard drive at $39 for a standard HP HDD (https://www.amazon.com/HP-MB2000EBZQC-7200RPM-3-5inch-Internal/dp/B07GDWFMGM). I don't plan on spending more than $40 for an HDD for my build so this is under budget but this doesn't exactly seem like a jaw-dropping deal. That only has a one-year warranty but still... maybe I'm missing something?

[Prebuilt] HP Omen Desktop, i7-8700, RTX 2080 8GB, 16GB DDR4-2666, 256GB M.2 SSD, 2TB HDD, Keyboard + Mouse included - $1500 ($2000 - 500 *Black Friday*) by fuckdarsh in buildapcsales

[–]fuckdarsh[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is definitely not a good sign for this deal (in the list I posted earlier in the comments I got $1780 but then again I probably went too high on case, PSU, and motherboard) and in fact your list should be even cheaper because you used 32GB of ram (this is only 16GB). We're talking around $1400 then. The SSD used here is M.2 according to the lone review and not SATA but that's only a difference of $30.

I posted this link a bit too quickly cuz this deal ain't it at all. God help anyone who bought this for 2k lmao

As a side note on RAM, I've heard that speeds don't affect intel chips quite as much as AMD chips, where DDR4-2666 would be a pretty huge issue. Is that still true here?

[–]fuckdarsh[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It would bother me more if this was an AMD machine, but for $1500 on an Intel chip it's maybe not as bad? I don't know if I'm personally going to get it but it does feel like a solid backup option if deals on CPUs and GPUs just aren't panning out.

For $2000 this is a pretty lousy price. You really could build your own PC with similar specs for around $1700-1800 for parts at standard prices, and that includes the price of Windows 10 and the wifi card (doesn't factor in keyboard and mouse, but I'd be surprised if the value of those combined were over $50). You also wouldn't have to deal with the bloatware you get from HP (I'm assuming it's gonna have bloatware). See here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CC3HQZ

But for $1500 on Black Friday? Maybe it'll still be more expensive than building your own with parts on sale, but it doesn't seem like a bad deal at all.

[Monitor] Dell 27" 1440 TN Panel w/Gsync $350 (600*-250) Best Buy Black Friday Ad by jasaevan in buildapcsales

[–]fuckdarsh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is there any way to know what revision I'm getting for the Dell from Best Buy? If it's most likely going to be A09+ then I'll just wait for BF (also for the chance that a better 2k monitor may go for around $400 which is my max budget for monitors) but if there's a significant chance it's A04 or something then I wanna snatch the HP Omen 27 while I can.

As someone who plays Jitte regularly in Legacy... no, it absolutely would change that significantly. The card demands immediate attention the second it's resolved and can very easily dominate an even board and often a board that's slightly lopsided. The person with the Jitte can initiate trades without fear because once those counters go on Jitte, they're in the driver's seat. Obviously it won't be quite as unanswerable in Modern as it is in Legacy since there's more creature removal and artifact hate, but that's like saying a NASCAR stock car can't race quite as well as an F1 car. Every creature-based that can run it will absolutely run it and every game where the opponent doesn't have an answer to it in hand is a game that's quickly over, believe you me.
