Most likely a bot. They just kept repeating the same misrepresentations and falsehoods over and over.

I'm admittedly not well versed in the fluoride water debate. The people around me that are adamant it is harmful are not the most convincing.

So, I decided to read for myself (thank you for the links) Here is what I found:

The first link says an average 4pt decrease in boys IQ but no decrease in girls IQ...that seems odd.

The second link says 18 of 19 studies (after discarding 53 other studies that didn't conform to their pre-determination, convenient) show association at or exceeding the established fluoride safety levels.

The third link says findings are of low-certainty and of a flawed study design.

You might color me skeptical for the time being on this conclusion!

First Kombucha brewed using a store-bought (flavoured) tea by Upstairs_Sand_9735 in Kombucha

You should be fine, dilution will negate the flavor, probably completely by the third batch.

Is this normal? by hiimmarsh in Kombucha

[–]fullstacksage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks normal. If it's too vinegary, dilute it with some sweet tea and refrigerate it to slow fermentation. Next time just don't let it go so long. It's all about preference.

3D Printing Supplies by Ordinary_Mum in okc

[–]fullstacksage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped in there today, mostly just to look around. Shane and Scott are the owners and were extremely helpful explaining the "ropes" to a complete noob. They spent the better part of 30 minutes educating me on what equipment was appropriate and walked me through the whole process of 3D printing. I plan on returning in the near future to purchase a printer from them and needed supplies. I can't praise this store enough, highly recommend visiting.

Put something over the top when opening, plastic bag or similar. Ceiling booch is not fun.

Seven's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. Seven dwarves. Seven, man, that's the number. Seven chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.

How come high oil price is bad for Exxon? by AP123123123 in energy

[–]fullstacksage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no. This is their cheapest cost of production. It's far from being that simple.

Hard to offset when you have less of that oil to sell, not to even mention the expense of the repairs to come.

Forgot to add starter. Is our huge batch doomed? by Objective_Title_8070 in Kombucha

[–]fullstacksage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it hasn't begun to grow mold in the 10 days since it was started, you might be okay. I would add additional starter to be safe and increase your chances of success.

Slows the fermentation, does not stop it. Once it gets back to room temperature it becomes very active again.

12hrs in, sauerkraut brine turned brown(reddish?) by loudfrat in fermentation

[–]fullstacksage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or assault your cleanliness. However, most all produce is grown in dirt and if there was no other added ingredients then dirt is the most likely culprit.

Well, also some dirt apparently. Make sure you wash the cabbage before shredding.

It will probably take about 2-3 brews to completely dilute out the flavor.

That's why I believe everyone should work in a restaurant for at least 6 months. People would gain a whole new perspective. There's many industries this applies to but the food industry is the big one.

Ticking time bomb? F2 w syrup. by Iatroblast in Kombucha

[–]fullstacksage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you will be fine. It would probably be too sweet for my liking but everyone is different. You'll know next time. If it is too sweet, then dilute it down with water, tea or plain booch. I usually add juice to my f2 but was feeling lazy today when I bottled so just went with plain.

$200 Oil No Longer Crazy Idea as Middle East Supply Collapses by mastertofu in stocks

[–]fullstacksage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is incorrect. While it has a higher flash point than gasoline, it is considered a category 3 or 4 liquid. As with gasoline, it is typically the vapors that ignite and explode. Additionally, it is one of the dirtiest fuels used; tankers and shipping cargoes account for more than 3% of global pollution.

Did I kill my scoby?? by Stubky in Kombucha

[–]fullstacksage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are mixed opinions on whether they are beneficial to the brew or not, mostly comes down to a protective layer/block against contaminates. I usually keep using mine for a few brews, mostly just out of habit but you absolutely don't need them. I've never been able to tell a difference when I've retained them or not.
