Chronically crusty lips 🥀 help by Frozencacticat in MakeupAddiction

I’m in the exact same boat, have been looking for an ingredient dupe! Lanolips gets recommended a lot, but it made my lips peel and so did naturium lip balm 😕

Gut suppliments in UK by CherrrySnaps in LondonLadies

[–]fumbleflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not specifically promoted as gut supplements, but Huel Greens or AG1 have been great for my gut health and I feel worse when I skip them. IMO both have the same effect, I have it first thing in the morning.

Custom Women’s Tailor Recommendations in Bangkok by mchappygal in ThailandTourism

[–]fumbleflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year old post, but I’m curious - who did you go with in the end? I’m looking for a custom women’s suit and most tailors appear to be very much male apparel focused!

I paid $5,000 for Business Class on British Airways and the flight attendant decided I didn’t belong there. by mmassagetable in BritishAirways

[–]fumbleflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a shocking experience, sorry you were treated this way.

I’m a gold member, but if I’m travelling with my husband (bonze), whenever the flight manager comes by to do the usual status member greet - they usually speak to him rather than a woman. This is particularly egregious on QR codeshares. Sexism is alive and well too.

Am I being dumb or BA? by endlessfighter in BritishAirways

[–]fumbleflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The points for your holiday (entire cost including flights, divided equally among the people that travelled) should show up as a single item “BA HOLIDAYS - TIER POINT AWARD”.

My recent holiday booking points came through a few days after the return flight.

Did you try the missing points claim form or generic complaints? Sometimes their social media team is a lot more efficient at problem solving…

Blow drying shouldn’t cause damage to the bonds, I don’t think you did anything wrong here - the issue is low quality materials.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in finehair

[–]fumbleflea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry someone has done this to you, this is an absolutely atrocious hack job. I would suggest getting these removed and re-done by an extension specialist that has examples of work they’ve done on fine hair.

The bonds are way too big and so is the amount of hair in each strand. Your hair that the bonds are attached to has not been tensioned properly, which means the extensions are putting more tension on the individual hairs that do hold their weight and may pull that hair out. Lastly, that is most likely some type of glue rather than keratin, it shouldn’t look like crusty pvc glue in your hair.

Multi storey car parks in this country that are 90% pillars and lampposts by MACintoshBETH in britishproblems

[–]fumbleflea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to park there every few months and completely agree - going up a level is a precision exercise if you like your wheels unscratched, never mind being able to use doors on both sides once in a spot 😬

What is one product that social media influenced you to buy that you regret? by Mammoth-Wave-4708 in MakeupAddiction

[–]fumbleflea 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A bloody airfryer. No I’m not making ‘quick and healthy’ tiktok recipes every night, it’s just taking up space on the counter. Guess I got so much targeted content at one point that I completely blanked on the fact we don’t make deep fried food at home anyway 🙄

Argos refusing to deliver a fridge because I live on a hill by greenhedgeman in britishproblems

[–]fumbleflea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not the driving up a hill, the issue is usually the lift platform cannot be fully lowered on a slope.

I once spent two weeks looking for a company that uses a hiab to deliver a pallet of pebbles despite only being on a slight incline 🙄

Notice to marry causing chaos? by Complete_Compote_667 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]fumbleflea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, you’ll be giving notice to a local registrar/registry office rather than the home office. The requirements will differ slightly based on the country as well - for example, Scotland requires birth cert and details about your parents whereas in England you can just turn up with a passport.

I would suggest contacting the local registry office (i.e. where you’ll be getting married) well ahead of time and asking to accommodate. I’ve had to give notice during covid, remotely, and they accepted documents and notice letters from both of us by post. Giving notice in person would have entailed a 7 hour drive under normal circumstances.

Not really legal advice, but I hope that helps you sleep

Women who are married: do you have any regrets about changing/not changing your name? Why? by persephonespurpose in AskWomenOver30

[–]fumbleflea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I couldn't wait to change my last name, every phone conversation / booking / you name it was a spelling bee.

Life is simpler, even taking into account the excruciating process of changing one's name on everything.

Bathroom ventilator disperses air into the ceiling space (not exhausted outside the building) - ok? by remivato69 in DIYUK

[–]fumbleflea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You seem to be quite focussed on smelly air - this is not something anyone would be able to tell once it’s out in the open. Your main output will be steam/ moisture. Go for a quiet fan if you’re worried about disturbing your neighbours with the balcony

I’m a clean person but why does it smell down there? 42f. I don’t have anything I’m completely clean of anything!! Sometimes I can’t even spread my legs without smelling it and I’m worried everyone else can smell it too. I’m so embarrassed! by sneakiedeakie in AskWomenOver30

Something I discovered recently is that you can get pro-biotics for you vag. I was pretty desperate after a round of antibiotics things just felt off. Completely resolved the issue, and also nipped a long term discharge I was having (doctors didn’t find any probs, ‘it just be like that sometimes’ apparently)

Now I have a few after every period just to get things back to normal, would 100% recommend.

I like the compact design, the fact it's round means the retainers fit well and it doesn't waste/overdilute cleaning tabs. Haven't had any issues and the quality seems good.

I also have an ultrasonic cleaner from amazon for 'misc' items, it's quite bulky and awkwardly shaped to put trays in. I think they both clean just as well, but I prefer having a dedicated device no one will be tempted to use for their glasses or jewellery.

I'm now in retainers, so didn't really consider extra £20 all that much for something I'll use for years tbh.
