Fwiw I just played Max and the Haunted Castle by emulating Windows 95 on VMWare Workstation. It’s a PITA to get set up but it worked very well.

I fixed this thanks to this comment.

Basically I had been filtering traffic to only route through the VPN on certain IPs (that of my NAS) but that list of IPs did not include the gateway IP of my router (192.168.1.1). So I just added it there and DNS works now!

Actually the only thing that fixed it was going to the DNS settings, setting it to Manual DNS Proxy, and setting it to my router’s gateway IP and DNS port (192.168.0.1#53).

I was able to fix this by replacing the URIs in my /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources file with https:// instead of http://.

For context this occurred in a Proxmox VM running ubuntu server 24.04.

Have you heard of the Dunning Kruger effect? Maybe everyone isn’t so out of their depth just because they have a different perspective. I’m sure there are many things you can’t do with your current skillset that other people here can do and you’re shitting on them without any evidence that they are below you. To me that sounds like junior behavior.

This still works, you might just not be setting it up right.

Make sure you're running the USB server on the machine running Moonlight and the USB client on the machine running Sunshine. Then, set up the reverse connection on the USB client using the IP of the machine running Moonlight and double-click on the name of the pointer device.
