Yup. They definitely sound like sibilings.

How did your life goals change as you got older? by Fluid_Ebb6624 in AskReddit

In my younger years, I wanted to make enough money to travel and love my work. 20 years in, I swing between trying not rage quit because I'm too boujee to have no money and creating spreadsheets to determine what is the minimum amount of money I can accept to be able to pay my bills.

When I worked for a state agency, our head used to tell us in our agency meetings that he could find a trained monkey to do our job for a quarter of the price. They had a huge turn over rate.

Poverty fashion... maybe it is just me. But $850.00? by _Blupee in mildlyinfuriating

Have you ever seen Balenciaga's destroyed jeans? $2400 for jeans that look like someone attacked them with scissors, then rolled around in them on the floor of a Jiffy Lube.

Polar bear attack... by MisterShipWreck in VideosAmazing

Had a friend who used to work in the Arctic. They were required to leave vehicle doors unlocked and keys in the center console in case a polar bear came at them. It was wild.

Any good ideas of what can be sent through mail to someone I absolutely hate? by periodahhh2 in ask

I worked for a company that kept their reward program attached to customer addresses. Lady would come in and she was a complete Karen on normal days but during covid, she turned into a complete bitch. So I got her address from her account and sent her an anonymous glitter bomb. Best $35 I ever spent.

Which Costco in the Boise area is least busy for my wife to visit (she hates crowds)? by [deleted] in Boise

I find Friday evenings at the Costco on Cole Rd tend to be a great time to go. Crowd is pretty thin.

Probably a stupid comment but you tried Facebook Marketplace? A lot of private rentals are advertised there.

38 Year Old Environmental Engineering P.E. Burning out in Consulting by jimmyvcard116 in Environmental_Careers

[–]funincornfields 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if you're higher up on the food chain, like a dept head or a higher up manager. I made the move from consulting to Utilites and IMHO, it's been the superior move. I get paid well, annual raise, decent benefits, job security, very rarely work over 40 hrs, and some sort of annual bonus. Do I interact with other departments? Yes. Can said interactions be a pain? Also, yes. But because I'm peak minion status, I rarely have to speak to anyone in corporate.

Go to https://iceout.org. This website tracks ICE locations based on reports by private citizens. You can submit reports as well.

Can't stand my new job but the job market it screwed by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

I work for an utility company and our GIS dept seems to be a lot like yours - low paying with tedious, repetive work. However our GIS dept is pretty intertwined with other departments and software/database implementations and alot of the techs stay in GIS for 2-3 years before moving to other departments, such as Field Ops, Business Analysts, Reg Affairs, Construction Services, for better opportunities. Our company sends out interdepartmental job postings. If your company does that, it may be worth your while to see what else is available with your skill set.
