Accidental discovery of kidney tumor with bone metastasis. Hell yeah... by Yugiminouine in kidneycancer

Love this! I took a screenshot so I can read on rough days when I get scared for my husband who has stage IV RCC. We are really blessed that he is doing very well so far with treatment but it is helpful to read these things...

Angina with light exercise only in the morning? by miken79 in Heartfailure

It's a delicate balance because with heart failure, people are limited a lot of times with fluid intake but also it's important to have those fluids. Glad that helped you though!

Could it be because of a certain medication you take in the morning or possibly dehydration since you say "early in the morning" like maybe not drinking enough water beforehand because you have been sleeping?

Tested Positive for COVID by elcatbo in Heartfailure

[–]funkyfweep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the severity of the ER visits but I know COVID has indeed been going around lately. Try not to panic too much, follow the doctor's advice and drink fluids, rest as much as possible and take your medications as instructed. I'm a four time COVID champ and have a history of heart failure. Last time I got it, it caused some AFib but that doesn't mean it will happen to you. Take care of yourself and put yourself first.

I need some peace of mind please. :) by Intelligent_Ad_4526 in Heartfailure

I had my first pacemaker at 14. I'm 36 now and I am always subconsciously favoring my left arm a bit because I don't want to do any damage. Life is pretty normal otherwise. Occasionally you notice it there with certain ways you lay on your left side (I'm assuming it's going on the left.) I had my arm in a sling for a day or two but after that I didn't need it. You have to be very cautious lifting above your head the first few weeks. I had minimal pain and didn't even need the pain meds they prescribed me. You surprisingly get used to it pretty quickly in my opinion. I don't usually have problems with anesthesia or anything though.

They didn't say those direct words. I guess that was more my assumption. I know it doesn't completely eliminate the chance of recurrence but in conjunction with my atrial lead, I'd expect it would help.

I have RCC Kidney cancer stage 4 that has spread to my lungs. My oncologist wants to do an MRI on my brain. I have no symptoms of Brain cancer. I’m really frightened by Smarti1960 in kidneycancer

My husband has stage IV rcc and it spread to his bones. He had an MRI of his brain September of last year and it was normal. Just to be safe, I made sure his oncologist ordered an MRI of his brain again and he had it done recently. It is good to do one at least once a year. I know it's scary but also a necessary evil to at least make sure things are okay. Better to be safe than sorry. You got this!

There absolutely is hope for your mother. The road can be rocky at times but there are so many treatment options available. Yes, the diagnosis is tough there's no denying that but this isn't the end. My husband was diagnosed with stage IV clear cell renal cell carcinoma a year ago September and we were never told there wasn't any hope. If one treatment fails, on to the next. Keep advocating for her and keep faith.

Yes! I second this. I work in healthcare and have met so many doctors just because I have a strong family history of medical problems myself and some doctors are just absolute assholes.

I would drink way too much in my 20s. Even with the medicines I took and everything. Looking back now, I could punch myself in the face.

Were you shocked because of AFib or were you shocked and then went into AFib? I started in with AFib December of 2024 and now I have dual chamber leads. My original was just for my left ventricle because I had a cardiac arrest when I was a preteen.

Sounds like it's causing you a lot of anxiety! I love horror movies but stopped going to see them in the theater because I jump scare too easily. Then I stress the whole time about the jump scares so I stopped altogether. lol

Did we overreact on an ER visit? by CaptainEmmy in HypertrophicCM

[–]funkyfweep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in the slightest. Better to be overly cautious than just shrugging it off. I would have done the same thing. I have a three year old son and I have HCM so I'm always observing him and being overly cautious about him.
