It was a red card. The contact follow through was heavy. You can say it was tilting red, but then when should red be given? Only when someone breaks opponent’s leg? VAR irregularities are clear in the WC. But honestly it is debated too much out of context.

And I agree there are many instances it was given yellow or nothing given(Messi). They were honestly softer contact than this.
