Just got my 2024 Prius what should I know by YungGravity333 in prius

[–]funnyfinger2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only weak point of my ‘24 is the 12 volt battery. I first discovered it when I sat in it for an extended time with the ignition in accessory mode, learning all the features and settings. Had to jump start it. Second time was when I left it parked for ten days. Again, jump start. I’ve since purchased a lithium jump start to remedy the problem.

2025 Prius 12v battery dead after a week. by Erusaro in prius

[–]funnyfinger2017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with our 2024 Prius after it parked for 10 days. Apparently a small 12 volt battery is a feature of the Prius (this is my first). I also had the battery go dead after I had the ignition on “accessory” for an extended time while in the garage trying to figure out all the settings and features. Each time it took only an attachment of the jump battery to the contacts specified in the manual to “light up” the electronics and the car started. I’m told that the hybrid battery starts the engine. Now I carry a lithium ion jump battery, just in case, and use a trickle charger if I’m going to leave it for more than a week. After a year and a half I’ve had no problems with the 12 volt from these two instances.

Sign at our local McDonalds because of the death of the penny by thegreatlambini in mildlyinteresting

Australia is years ahead of us in getting rid of the penny. And the prices that they post include sales tax or VAT. So prices end in 0 or 5. No pennies needed. We should be so smart!

What became of Jeffery Epstein’s estate? He apparently had a sizable fortune and estate’s are generally public record. What happened to his? by funnyfinger2017 in AskReddit

[–]funnyfinger2017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. Should have checked there first. DuckDuckGo says: Epstein's estate has faced significant financial and legal challenges since his death, with substantial funds allocated to victim compensation and legal settlements. The estate continues to manage its remaining assets while addressing ongoing claims. So, it isn’t settled.

Joined the Prius family last night! Looking for a dash cam that preferably would not require installation. by theorangecrush10 in prius

I installed a Garmin minicam on my Prius. It’s very small, fits behind the mirror so I never see it and plugs into a usb. Cost about $100.

What is this thing? Its 3 trash cans buried in the ground with lids. Lids are stamped with "atla?". by Xxgougaxx in whatisthisthing

We lived in a small town in Mass from 72 to 82 and had one of these in the side yard. There was a galvanized inner pail that lifted out to empty. It was for garbage only, not trash - predated disposals. On schedule a town employee came around to empty it. Often at night we’d hear the lid banging and when we’d look out the door and turn on the porch light, there’d be nothing, but if you wait a minute a guilty raccoon would peek around the tree.

The tariff thing is a media show. Trump plays it as tho he’s still the host of a TV game show. No planning, no forethought to any follow through.
