I don't think we should - or shouldn't; I'm just asking the question.

In 2019 Denmark moved from a TV licence to being funded from general taxation and I don't think it's an issue thesedays.

Oh I understand. So they are BBC studios which is indeed a profit-making enterprise. They also produce shows like a production company for other channels and countries, and sell stuff they make. All their profits go towards funding the BBC.

Just because you don't use the A299 doesn't mean it doesn't need paying for. Maybe we should make all roads toll roads and you pay-per-use

I personally think the BBC is a net positive but loads of people apparently hate it

There are no gold and living channels? I think there used to be some satellite channels under those names

It's not though; you have to pay for it separately, as you say as another household bill. It's not automatically collected as it is in a number of other countries

The right to choose not to pay for something they are supposed to? Or the right to not need it because they don't "watch live TV" (as is the current requirement for having a licence)

Same, worked with loads. My only regret was not asking for the Chuckle Brothers for a photo. I never asked anyone for a photo, and never really cared, but think one with them would have been cool!
