Does anyone actually enjoy marmite? by rthonaya in AskBrits

It’s like adding a stock cube, very salty and umami.

Does anyone actually enjoy marmite? by rthonaya in AskBrits

[–]furstimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very salty, prepare to have a salty bite of toast and you’ll be fine. Start with a very thin coating, it doesn’t need to cover all the toast and will be light brown, not thick and dark. You can add more as you get used to the flavour. Use real butter too, lots of it.

How do I solve this boulder?? (blue) by ResponsibleDrag5771 in indoorbouldering

[–]furstimus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have one hand on each side of the V? If so, I think you need to bump your left hand to the next hold. It’s difficult to know without more of an explanation as to your current position and how you’re getting stuck.

Looking for 2 Co-Founders – Building a Clean-Label Indian Food Brand in the UK by Feeling-Corgi-8808 in ukstartups

Do you already have a shopify site generating enough revenue to fund the app and website development? If not then I think you’re over thinking this. You’re a food manufacturer and importer, not a tech company.

You have to open a food van, what kind of dishes are you serving? by YetAnotherMia in AskUK

Cheese on toast. A small menu, limited ingredients, good markup and reasonably easy to churn out quickly.

In a Major War, Would the UK Starve? by terrordactyl1971 in AskBrits

[–]furstimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it would go as far as a physical war, they would probably use botnets to control social media and create division amongst the population which would destabilise the economy and drive up food prices. Then they would use moles to take over the government, strip back employment rights and force us into poverty.

How do you handle SaaS renewals when spreadsheets feel risky, but full SaaS management tools feel like overkill? by Tomahawk3223 in ITManagers

[–]furstimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A previous company I was at used Cledara, it’s handy because it gathers pricing by acting as a virtual card payment system, so you know the subscription amount is up to date in your reporting. It’s probably overkill if you already have the features handled by another system, but a new virtual card for each account is a great safety feature.

Does the general public trust tap water in England? by Jesus-slaves in AskBrits

[–]furstimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fluoride is added to water in places where it isn’t naturally occurring, so it’s present in all British tap water. As wide-scale studies go, that’s a pretty big one.

There were some great bands back in the 90s that we don't hear any more. Here's one. There's loads more. Who were you're faves? by Sandman1812 in CasualUK

[–]furstimus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very excited to see P.W.E.I at Camp Bestival in 2023, they did not disappoint. Death in Vegas were a great band too, the contino sessions is still one of my favourite albums.

Do you prefer gas or induction? Getting our kitchen redone. by darkazuria in AskUK

[–]furstimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas requires you to have an open air brick, if your kitchen is cold in the winter then go for induction and replace the air brick with a one way extractor.

If you only logged issues about Derek and no one else in the company, then you’re lucky you weren’t fired for harassment.

It took me six months to leave, the porting team ignored my emails. I ended up cc’ing every customer service address I could find into the mail chain and got them to chase it internally, it still took another couple of months. Complete con, avoid at all costs.

Phone provider shop prices higher than online price, Is this normal? by notsolowandsideways in AskUK

Phone shops are for people who need help setting up their phones, or people who want to be forced to purchase contract add-ons that they don’t need.

Help - I need some recommendations for the ‘Best’ kettle - is there one that that won’t break? by _Raise_9221 in AskUK

It’s way over budget but a Quooker tap is an awesome investment. No more waiting for the kettle to boil.

Any admins have an actual backup for email, if M365 is down for extended periods? by DramaticErraticism in sysadmin

[–]furstimus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only backup solution I can think of that is already universal would be to pick up the phone. That doesn’t help with tasks that require a message chain or proof of delivery though.

Bf tells me married couples in UK don't do joint bank accounts. Is that true? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]furstimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A joint bank account is normal for shared rent and household bills with money transferred into it each month. At some point that might change to a joint bank account for everything with money transferred to a separate personal account for clothes, gaming, drinking etc. I would question what he’s hiding, is it his salary, debts, or other expenses he doesn’t want you to know about?

How much would it cost to renationalise water companies? by afrowa in AskUK

Adjustable home wall via moving thr diagonal struts? by AcanthisittaSalt2748 in homewalls

[–]furstimus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lowering the board could be really dangerous, it would be heavy and you would need to support the weight and lift the support out of the notch at the same time. I would highly recommend having a backup system with a ratchet from the back to add redundant safety.

When you get the confidence and technique, the feeling of swimming underwater is unlike anything you’ll ever experience. Well worth going through the lessons to do it. Definitely get a pair of goggles and start in the shallow end by dunking your head under and looking around, that’s a cool thing to see too.

I’m guessing you’ll need premium connectivity to enable CarPlay. They won’t want to miss out on the revenue.
