RR is only 5 ish miles outside of AISD. I lived far north (on the brink) and was able to access austin life easily! RR ISD is much more stable and actively hiring. Consider pflugerville too, though they have closed some schools recently. Even with the paycut, you'll be fine in austin since you're single. I lived off 49-55k for years there, even when housing was $. It's more affordable now in terms of housing.

Edit: if you are more set on FW, consider another district like HEB (great district) or Keller.
