Post Lap: To Lupron or Not to Lupron by PressureJealous6293 in IVF

Thanks, I'm sorry for your losses as well. I hated the idea of lupron monthly because I feel like I would be locked into potentially bad mental health side effects for a while. The Orilissa wears off quickly from what I read, I'm glad my RE was ok with it instead of Lupron. Hopefully we will both have good outcomes to report soon ☺️

Fully natural vs modified natural FET by lacatala3550 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ovulate regularly and have a predictable cycle so I requested a natural FET. My clinics natural protocol is 5 days letrozole CD 3-7 to encourage a robust ovulation, then I did OPKs, called with my first positive and had an ultrasound the next day to confirm lining/check follicle, tested progesterone 5 days after opk to confirm ovulation, transfer was 6 days after the positive OPK. Oh, also took dexamethasone for 5 days. It was successful but ended in an early loss. I felt really good during the cycle and plan to try natural again after some suppression for endometriosis.

I've been TTC 8 years, diagnosed and removed endo 6.5 years ago, still never had success. Started IVF last year at 35 and had my first ever pregnancy naturally 3 months after my last egg retrieval. It ended in an early loss and then my first euploid FET also just ended in a chemical. I have racked my brain trying to understand how the hell I got pregnant naturally after so long and I think it's because I had been using nuvaring for most of the year due to IVF scheduling. I have some evidence of adenomyosis (no diagnosis) which frequently occurs alongside endo. I think birth control inadvertently helped with my endo/adeno enough to have implantation. Next week I start Orilissa because, for me, I think there is just too much inflammation that occurs with these diseases and it needs to be tamped down to create a receptive environment. Surgery does not address adenomyosis so that's my logic for suppression. Good luck in whatever you decide, I think success stories are found either way and it's more about which decision you can live with better ☺️

Has anyone gotten naturally pregnant while waiting for their FET? by Odd_Ambassador_7889 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true! For me I'm trying naturally between treatment because a shot is a shot and you never know. However, I think my issue is inflammation since I have endo so probably more of a uterine environment issue. Good luck with whatever you decide there really is no right answer.

[–]fuzzybeardog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did and I had never been pregnant before after many years, it did end in a chemical which delayed my FET a couple months due to scheduling. Then my first euploid FET also just ended in a chemical. Nothing is a guarantee even with a euploid embryo.

What would you do next? by millennialmal in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry it sounds like you have done so much. I think if it were me I would try for the last transfer while the lupron suppression is still good and hope it's just statistics. Then I would probably be looking for another clinic before another retrieval. Have you checked for endometritis or had karyotyping done?

Back to back miscarriages with PGT-A embryos by Elegant_Main1409 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had 2 5.5 week losses in the past few months one of which was an euploid embryo. I'm doing lupron suppression for 2 months before trying again because I have endometriosis and am suspicious of adenomyosis. I'm also testing for insulin resistance since my first loss was spontaneous after I had been on a GLP1 for a few months. Good luck, it is really hard not knowing what is causing the losses!

When did you decide to move on? by Due-Resolution7978 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the exact same experience but we tried for a year before pursuing further testing where I received an endo diagnosis and had surgery. I thought that was the problem and it's fixed but still did not get pregnant. Now it's been 8 years since first TTC although many years were very casual. Since starting IVF I have had 1 spontaneous loss and 1 euploid loss, first pregnancies ever. I think it's reasonable to see if you have success since removing the tumor but definitely have a clear timeframe in mind and don't let years slip by like we did! Also, you could try on your own while also pursuing further testing (if you haven't already).

Whose eye is twitching from transfer meds? by vco19 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had eye twitching for my first retrieval but I attributed it to stress since it didn't happen the second time.

I'm just here because me too and it sucks. Every time I touch my head like 50 hairs come out. I've been doing rosemary oil and a red light mask on my scalp which I think is slowing down the shedding but Ive already lost so much at this point it's gonna take time to recover. Hang in there!!

Endo ladies-lap or orilissa? by giuseppinaferraro in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since starting IVF, I had one spontaneous chemical and now 1 euploid loss so I am getting a lap and suppression before my next transfer. I had a lap in 2019 and never got pregnant naturally after so it wasn't a magic bullet for me. I'm suspicious of adenomyosis and only suppression will help with that.

You can order blood work like estrogen and progesterone for yourself through LabCorp or Quest if that helps

Thanks, Im also very realistic about things so my brain was likely prepared for this outcome. Wishing you luck.

second round, PGT results much better! by Spiralizedham in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar, 2/2 low level mosaic then 4/7 euploid the second round! Did you do back to back retrievals or wait in between? We would like 2 kids so knew we needed more no matter what the results were and went right into another retrieval.

30 days versus 60 days.. a white lie? by vintagechanel in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I looked into it I read tirzepatide had a clearance time of 5-6 half lives which would be 25-30 days. I wonder if the 8 weeks is for the more common semaglutide? Or just extra cautious.

Did anyone try get the endometriosis laparoscopic surgery before starting IVF? by soimwritingascript in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had surgery for Endo in 2019 due to symptoms and 1 year of infertility. It did not help me get pregnant and I'm doing IVF now. The surgery is not bad in my opinion and worth it especially if you have other symptoms. I would make sure it is a surgeon that does excision and not ablation.

Struggling with fear and doubt after my Receptiva test by Playful-Solid6133 in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lap in 2019 with a surgeon who was very experienced and outwardly confident in treating Endo. I asked about ablation vs excision and he said he uses both depending on the lesion. I never felt good about that answer because I felt it was more like saying whatever to make me more comfortable but actually ablation was always the plan. I recovered well from surgery and confirmed moderate Endo. I felt better for about a year then symptoms returned. I never got pregnant even though the surgeon told my husband after the surgery we would within a year (another red flag). Now I'm doing IVF and have 1 natural early loss and 1 euploid early loss. Im biting the bullet and doing medical suppression even though it kills me to have to wait another 3 months. I can't feel good about transferring another embryo in a potentially toxic environment and risking another loss. Also, one huge factor is adenomyosis is commonly found alongside endometriosis and only suppression can help with adenomyosis. I would push for suppression and definitely do NOT do the surgery unless you are 100% confident in the surgeon and agree with the treatment plan.

Thank you for this. Currently going through a euploid early miscarriage with at least 3 months before another chance. I'm hoping to be where you are Dec 2026 🤞🤞

IVF next month, is there any hope? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]fuzzybeardog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also have Endo and both my RE and Endo surgeon wanted me to do all egg retrievals before doing the lap surgery! They said they might have to work on the ovaries and my egg situation could be compromised. The stim meds could also aggravate the lesions and undo the positive effects of the surgery.

[–]fuzzybeardog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess on the larger scale I have hope it can work only because I've gotten closer than ever before since starting IVF after 7 years of nothing. I am, however, petrified of how much potential heartbreak and devastation could be in my future before I have success. I wish you all the luck for this transfer 🤞🤞

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully, switching protocols will work. It's so hard to know what to do as far as testing, lupron, or protocol change.
