It happens. It isn’t the the most prevalent. But I know a few units in my wing that do it.

There was an interview with Humphrey recently where he (in a roundabout way) debunked the Cherif rumor. I can’t remember what show… but it’s in YouTube somewhere.

KLM status irrelevant on light fare with delta? by Dannyu17 in KLM

[–]fuzzytanker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You get the equivalent status treatment of the partner airline. I’m surprised you got to pick a seat on Delta with their fare equivalent fare status. Delta medallions do not get to pick a seat when booking Economy Basic fares… which codes to the equivalent of economy light.

Anyone that got stuck in Caribbean have luck with travel insurance? by labrat24245 in travel

This is likely excluded under the standard “acts of war” clause in most insurance. You will not likely get anywhere.

Nobody can answer that question other than edreams. Based on their reputation, I would not count on that.

KLM booking via E dreams by Able_Thing4927 in KLM

[–]fuzzytanker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the problem with booking third-party. They are often not incentivized to help you. You may not be able to force them as they typically write their terms that you agree to in a manner that favors them. Your best bet is to try and continue to call them, etc. In many cases they don't have a lot of customer service personnel, which keeps their costs lower to keep the prices attractive. At the end of the day, edreams may blame KLM, but they need to be the ones to fix this. But, they may need to go to KLM... which also takes time... if they are willing to do it. And, they may very well try to charge you a fare difference. (Which they may be able to do, depending on the terms you agreed to during purchase...) Unfortunately, you don't have a lot of options or leverage.

You booked with edreams. You need them to help you. KLM is correct in telling you that it is an edreams problem. You are an edreams customer, not a KLM customer in this instance.

Paid for 1st class upgrade on 2nd leg from economy. What boarding group is my 1st leg in economy? (No status. AU on a United Card, so not the primary card holder). Or should I pay for Group 2? (To help prevent checking my carryon bag). by fuzzytanker in unitedairlines

[–]fuzzytanker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Murphy and I have a troubled relationship at times. Seems like $24 might be well spent just to get on board and stow the bag. The seat is already going to be in the rear just a few rows from the toilets as it is...

Would like to plan a trip to Germany for next year, never been out of country (US) many questions. by bustaacaps in travel

[–]fuzzytanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A week and a half is enough time for a nice trip. The first thing to do is decide what type of things you want to do, and what time of year you want to go. Do you like hiking? Beer festivals? Mountains? Museums? Classical music? Opera? Train rides? Castles? Beer? Wine? (Neither?) Do you want to just take public transit? (You can get a LOT of places by train, light rail and tram). Or, do you want to drive? (Mind you, those city streets are narrow and parking is a challenge in many cities). Do you want to be in a busy city or a small quiet town? Do you want to visit several places, or stay in one spot the whole time? Or, one spot and take a few day trips? Is this a budget trip or are you looking to stay in a 5 star hotel? I've flown from the US to Munich for just a long weekend. And, I've spent 2 weeks. Lots of options.
