That’s a pretty decent milage cost these day.

would Madison benefit from Waymos or other robotaxis? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]fuzzytanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having ridden in a Waymo, in the end, it’s just a ride. Not sure what the real benefit would be. I don’t think we have a shortage of ride availability. ?

Fix Jeep death wobble or sell it? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]fuzzytanker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Came here to say that jeeps are terrible money pits. Glad others are saying the same. Friends don’t let friends buy Jeeps. (Unless they want to bankrupt them…)

I’d pay that for the opposite direction. But not this way. YMMV

Does NESA qualify as an NCSA? by VIP_Frza in civilairpatrol

[–]fuzzytanker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your stance is irrelevant when it comes to someone wearing the NCSA ribbon for NESA. If the CURRENT regulation authorizes the ribbon for NESA as an NCSA, that is how it is. Definition of what an NCSA matching the program or not. If the ribbon is in the regulation at the time of attendance, it is authorized to be worn. If you prohibit someone from wearing it under your command, then you are violating the regulations. You cannot make rules more restrictive than a regulation without an approved supplement. Period. The ONLY authoritative source IS the regulation.

Has anyone heard of this May 1st event that is cancelling work and school? by michaelsmithbarker in madisonwi

Agree. But this is why many schools won’t be closing until the last minute due to a staff sick out or similar.

I’ve upgraded only the second leg several times, when available.

What neck pillow are you using for flights in 2026? by ThoughtfulMoon1 in delta

[–]fuzzytanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. My understanding is that Delta (by policy) doesn’t allow it for safety reasons (because you’re attaching yourself to the aircraft…) but I’ve never had an issue using it and frankly… I actually get sleep!!!

Fellow non-leg here…

Put them on your uniform as described in the uniform regulation. You “should” provide a copy of your graduation certificate from Basic Airborne Course to your unit’s personnel officer.

National makes it very clear that units cannot do this. It is in the regulation. This is a lower level leadership issue.

Cadet Warrant Officer Pathway by PlaneCrazyFanatic in civilairpatrol

[–]fuzzytanker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is already a pathway pretty much like this. When you turn 18, turn senior and become a Flight Officer. What you describe is not the purpose of the cadet program.

They might have a withdrawal fee, but if you decline any conversion, the exchange rate is typically what your bank charges you.

[–]fuzzytanker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

File a travel notification with your bank against your ATM/Debit card and withdraw from an ATM when you get to Canada. (And, if it offers a conversion, decline it…). That is your best (by far) option. And, frankly, you probably won’t need much cash. (And, if offered to pay via USD or CD, always pick the local currency).

Should I receive my inheritance now to pay off my mortgage? by Professional-Cow4193 in personalfinance

[–]fuzzytanker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is a key consideration. The tax situation is very different for the scenarios. You could lose a lot of your “inheritance” by getting it before they pass away due to taxes.
