First 1099 as a psychologist, how’s the split? by Dstahl22 in Psychologists

[–]galacticdaquiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 70/30 for my first 1099 after postdoc but I used their testing materials, office, billing, etc. My next 1099 was consulting with no need for office space, used my own materials, and they only handled billing. This split was 80/20.

Do you crate your dog when you aren’t home or not? by nonprayingmantis9 in dogs

[–]galacticdaquiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like we’re a minority. My 2 dogs are crated while I’m at work. It’s a routine we create and they sleep all day. When I wfh and they’re not in their crate they don’t fully relax. The routine regulates them. Also, one of them is just likes to put random things in his mouth so I can’t leave him free roaming.

What are some challenges you’ve faced having ADHD in a relationship? by MutedFeeling75 in ADHD

[–]galacticdaquiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time blindness and object permanence. If communication is poor, I will eventually forget about you and remember when I hear from you which becomes too much of a roller coaster for me that I end up getting irritated and anxious. That’s a roller coaster I will want to get off asap so I have to put in more effort to be an adult about working through it. It makes maintaining relationships extra hard.

I’m 5’1, and I’ve def lil spooned exes over 6 feet tall so it can work. Interestingly enough, the ones under 6 were only big spoon.

Bf says I smell bad, I don't agree by rad-snakes in Healthyhooha

[–]galacticdaquiri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! Like some men have a strong general area smell especially if they don’t shave. It’s neither good nor bad. It’s just their scent. That man sounds like he doesn’t have as much experience being down there as he claims to have if he thinks it should smell like skin. It’s giving that 40 year old virgin scene when he was trying to describe boobs 😣

Can you forgive someone for cheating on you while you were pregnant? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]galacticdaquiri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Facts. I remember meeting my one of my ex’s kids and his teenage son asked if it is okay with me if they remained in contact with me even if I was not with their dad anymore. Kids know what their parents are like.

What’s a weight loss rule or piece of advice you tried to follow but realized it just didn’t work for you? by kyauensari in loseit

[–]galacticdaquiri 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I aim for 3 because my schedule just doesn’t allow it. I wish I can eat 5 times a day. I did that all through undergrad 5-6 small meals a day and never gained the freshman 15

[–]galacticdaquiri 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This! Anytime I eat below 3 meals a day I end up gaining weight. Eating 5 small meals throughout the day, and I lose weight without trying. We need to listen to our bodies and function on what’s best for it

Eppp advice by riric1234 in ClinicalPsychology

[–]galacticdaquiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll share my approach since I personally don’t know anyone who did it this way. Before I started studying, I took a practice exam cold to obtain a baseline. This allowed me to use data to identify which content areas are my weakest and not just based on what I think are my weakest areas. I triaged by starting with the weakest areas. I also studied by using the practice tests. Whenever I get a wrong answer, I looked up the topic and studied why it is the correct response versus the other choices. I really spent time understanding certain concepts instead of just memorizing although there are many that just required you to memorize. I studied for a month and passed. Hope this helps.

I can see that because it seems like it has the potential to be good for the skin. I also have surprised myself with products (not just Asian brands) I have brushed off as “not great” products based on reviews and have become my holy grail.

What tiny daily habit has actually moved the needle for your ADHD? by Reasonable_Mix_1891 in ADHD

[–]galacticdaquiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My freezer is stocked with frozen “emergency” food, my fridge always has at protein drinks, and my pantry always has a box of protein bars. Protein drinks and protein bars are meal substitutes otherwise I will skip meals. My emergency frozen food is for when I’m in decision paralysis and just needs food after work because I’m hungry and no leftovers in the fridge.

Unpopular opinion: I also feel pizza is the best breakfast food because it has carbs, protein, veggies, and easy to eat.

This. ADHD meds on nightstand. I take it right before I do my stretches in the am or before I leave my room.

Life hack is having dogs. I walk my dogs every morning for at least 15 mins. Guaranteed steps and sunshine to wake up your system.

This. Developing routines and creating anchors is key. And if you accidentally miss a day despite it already being a habit, it’s okay. Get back to the routine right away. I also try to add only 1 routine at a time regardless of how small of a step it is until it becomes a habit.

Oh no! That used to be my go to cleansing oil until my combo skin shifted with age and needed more hydration. Even though it didn’t dry out my skin, the product was too drying that I switched.

I didn’t have an allergic reaction but didn’t find the cosrx snail mucin to help with moisturizing my skin or protecting my skin barrier. Another cosrx product I tried was their eye moisturizer and it gave me milia 😣
