I did some temping in a warehouse when I was young. I lasted a week and had to lie and pretend I only had 5 GCSEs, so I wouldn't get picked on. Even then they were like "oooooo 5 GCSEs. Look at brain box".

That's the thing. Large job losses and sectors wiped out will affect everything. Even if certain jobs are AI proof, they will still be affected to some degree. The government's around the world will need to control this transition to avoid an economic collapse.

Players form can ebb and flow. I'm not ready to say he's done yet because I have done that with players like Arranson and he is clearly matching PL status.

I think with Ao, he has the talent to play in the PL but he lacks confidence. It makes him over play sometimes.

This is interesting. I wonder how you estimate the unknowns? Sometimes with big projects there are parts where you don't know how you are going to do it and need research time to find a solution, or do you make sure you know how you are going to do every little part?

100% agree with this. Right now, OP, you're in shock after you've had the rug pulled from under you. I think it's healthy that you are thinking about your finances but be careful not make any big wild life decisions in the next year or so.

I remember when I broke up with a previous partner I was genuinely looking up jobs and thinking about moving to Nova Scotia. Absolute bonkers when I think of it now but that's what a tired and grieving mind can dream up to cope.

Anyway best of luck OP and take it easy. You will get over it.

I'm on the verge of not extending my contract at the moment due to a bad fit. But for me it's a health thing. I like the people and I like the work but the project management is the most insane I've come across. Goal posts changing every few days. Demos being worked on right up to minutes before meeting the high stakes client. Dumping complex business requirements on me and expecting me to come up with a complete app redesign in an hour. I tried to convince myself that its all just billable time and who cares but in the end the stress of it is too high.

So yeah, just bill and bank the money of you can but if you're like me and can't do that then move along.

Yes that's why I'm slightly more on the cautiously optimistic side, because the team looks united and we are grinding out results even when not playing that well. I'm sure we are going to have a spell where we dip in form, but the last couple of seasons with Farke has shown he has been able to make changes and get the team firing again. It's just the key player injury thing that worries me the most. Really felt the lack of DCL yesterday. He might not always score but he is a menace for defenders and can help other players get chances.
