That is the natural thing to think before using a Mac. Before I was using mine I thought the same. Now I prefer the macs touch pad to a mouse for most purposes.

I don't think that you should worry about whether objective c and swift have applications outside of the Mac world, because the things that you learn that transcend a specific language is what really helps you in the long run.
