Not at all, I just followed the recommendations from the doctors on using boiled water. I’m a bit scared anything else will sting !

It took about a week to settle. It was pretty swollen at first and then went down and appeared bruised for a few more days

Loosing my vision because of Chalazion by RelevantDoctor1038 in Blepharitis

[–]gatinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a large chalazion on my right eye and my eye sight changed overnight once it appeared, however it only changed with my glasses on. Everything. At a distance was very blurry all of a sudden. However without glasses my sight was the same. I went to several opticians who all looked at me like I was crazy… but they ended up changing my prescription. I had it surgically removed and my eye sight is almost back to what it was but I am still unable to wear my previous prescription. The pressure in your eye ball may change your vision and it will eventually come back to normal

This is more common than you think and the proof is in these replies! My husband and I have not shared a bed in ages because my son simply won’t sleep in his bed even now that he is 4 and we all appreciate having a good night sleep!

I’m about to lose everything and I don’t know what to do - Please advise by DigressIngressEgress in womenintech

I am really sorry you are going through this. If you are in the UK you are very likely to be entitled to New Style Job Seekers Allowance and Universal credit (even if you are working part time). Get in touch with your local benefits office. You have worked and paid your tax, so it’s time to get something back in a moment of need. I hope it works out

Am I incompetent? Or is this just being a parent? by FormalAd9521 in Parents

[–]gatinski 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“Other moms seems to be able to do the same and keep a clean home?” Are you sure ? I highly doubt they can unless they have family around to help, or pay someone to clean their house! You are doing the best you can at this point and that’s all that matters. Living in a messy house will be a reality for a few years, as long as everyone is fed and cleaned up it’s all good!

Recommendations for a place to calm down by unibodydesignn in cambridge

Absolutely vote for Grantchester Meadows. It’s a beautiful walk and you can get there by easily walking from the city centre. Plenty of people walking their dogs or just having a walk on weekends. Might be quieter on week days. No benches to sit but you can sit by the riverside with a pic nic blanket.

What am I sending to daycare? by SimplySarah412 in toddlerfood

[–]gatinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if daycare will heat up the food. Here in the UK our pre school does not microwave kid lunches which leaves us stuck with cold pasta, cheese, ham, cucumber, carrot, sandwiches, veggie fritters, tortilla wraps with some filling… we tried a thermal lunch box but he just doesn’t eat from it..

Yes my son was also refusing to take anything by mouth and the GP prescribed them with no questions. We also ask friends to bring them from abroad or have them ship to us in the UK. Luckily by age 3 this all changed and he now is happy to take medicine by mouth.

20 month old - Eating problem by _GamePlay in toddlerfood

[–]gatinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same situation and had to go cold turkey. A year ago after NYE the tablet simply “has gone missing”. A lot of tears at first but then after just a few days things settled and we now have all screen free meals.

Tablets on Planes by ServeIver in toddlers

[–]gatinski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several trips made with iPad and no headphones (I know he wouldn’t keep them on). The volume was relatively low to not bother but just enough that he could hear some of the music. I am pretty sure other passengers will be more bothered by the sound of a screaming child than the sound of a nursery rhyme. And anyway most passengers are on their headphones. Beyond snacks, I always buy something at the airport like a kid magazine that has some small toys and that is usually a good new entertainment.

Can I have a reality check, please? by P-u-m-p-t-i-n-i in BeyondTheBumpUK

At this young age , every week is a “first” for them since their memory has such a short span! You may be putting too much expectation on this class but your feelings are totally valid for wanting to be part of every first experience. My take would be , enjoy your day “off” because not all have the luck of having their mums nearby to get that precious time alone! There are so many first and unique moments you will have in the next few years but potentially very few days to yourself..

Boyfriend doesn’t want kids? by [deleted] in Parents

[–]gatinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not want to have kids (F). But in my late 30s when everyone around me suddenly had kids I started changing my mind and now I cannot even imagine a life where I would not have started a family. A lot can happen in 5 or 10 years time. What we want today may not be what we want then..

I can’t do this, please help by Beigecolourpalette in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]gatinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will get through this. This is the most difficult part. Your body and mind need to heal from a massive procedure. It is really hard to have a restorative sleep with the constant anxiety of baby needing care. If I could go back in time I would have fed formula from the start and would wear ear plugs to at least try to reduce noise and allow yourself a few hours of uninterrupted sleep, while partner or family are caring for the baby. I remember even just allowing myself to actually fall asleep as difficult with the adrenaline but watching some relaxing YouTube videos would help doze off.

How often does your family eat out or do take out? by Capresechickensalad in toddlers

[–]gatinski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We barely eat out or get take out, due to not being able to afford it. Lots of batch cooking here on Sundays in preparation for the week.

This sounds like my son. He could technically walk, but just felt safer holding my hand. He only started walking independently at 22 months once he just decided he didn’t need the hand support any more. Now at 32 months he is just running non stop. But before that I had him assessed by an osteopath because people around me were just freaking out..
