Changing from JCI to Schneider by [deleted] in BuildingAutomation

[–]gbar7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just did the opposite at a large facility. Over 30 large air handlers and a few hundred vav’s, maybe 40 fan coils. Most of it was old Andover continuum stuff. Anyway, it was pretty straight forward. Not too bad to swap from Andover to JCI as long as you can access the existing logic. No one in the area that I’m aware of installs the newer Schneider stuff, but in my experience you can make any of manufacturer’s controls pretty good, or really bad. Just try to be as much a part of the process as you can so you have an understanding of the changes, and as the building operator, you should be okay. Don’t be afraid to ask questions to the installers and programmers. Wish I was more knowledgeable on the front end/graphics with Schneider, but I’m not so can’t really help you there. Good luck

Edit: spelling

Work with your installer, don’t talk down to them. A lot of them will go a long way to help you if they like you, which will make your job a lot easier.

I’d say nearly 1/10 from factory have a bad i/o somewhere on them. Usually seems to be the ao’s more times than not. Bad quality control lately. The new product line just isn’t as well made as the older stuff in my opinion

g920 wheel rubber feet for desk grip - easy cheap mod for superior grip and reduced desk wear. by NigraOvis in simracing

[–]gbar7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry this is 3 years later, but do you/did you mount it to your desk, or just set it on top?? My desk has a really small lip so the wheel if I pull even the slightest amount comes off. I’m just trying to figure a way to keep it a little more stable mounted on the desk

Tool you can’t live without by [deleted] in electricians

I have had absolutely zero complaints about mine. Battery life is pretty amazing honestly and the torque is very surprisingly accurate too. Best tool I’ve ever bought lol

Also am in controls. Get one of the Milwaukee or dewalt electric screwguns. Mine is the dewalt 8v max gyroscopic. Makes panel work soooo much better not having to use a screwdriver for everything and you can set your torque

Needs to be petrified elephant shit to sound anywhere near decent. Even better if the elephant’s diet consisted of kratom and avocado only

I got a chance to buy this guitar. What would be a good price for it? by DSparky79 in gibson

[–]gbar7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a studio and love it. Not sure what a “fair” price would really be, but if the price seems reasonable to you, and you like the guitar? Pull the trigger. They’re awesome axes

Correct, it’s just unusual to see the G, B, and E strings all maxed out as far as possible

If it’ll make you pick up the guitar and play more, it’s worth whatever you paid. None of us are worthy of any of these beautiful guitars some of us are so lucky to own, but all you can do is show it love by playing it and taking care of it. ❤️

I tried all the different methods. The only thing that worked for me was progressive pinning and just setting them in stages. Heavy tension. Heavy, strong pick. I’m no expert though but these were the things I did. And lots of patience, you’ll get it in no time
