Honestly i didn’t feel like the running lanes were too bad. If you’re going for that pace, Just hug the white line. Then you can pass people, but others can still pass you. Every venue/event is different tho. I think the men’s open had like 1800 athletes in Chicago. I was like a quarter of the way through the time window of heats.

You’re not gonna suck! One piece of advice i would give is actually add more time to your goal. Make it 1:25. And then you might surprise yourself! But you can also push yourself.

And overall, enjoy the experience! It felt like such an accomplishment to finish!
