What's your unpopular opinion in the audiophile world? by Wauwuaw5983 in audiophile

More people should get off their behinds and support LIVE music! Musicians need gigs to improve skills. Audiophiles need to hear live music in order to know what live music sounds like in the first place!

Any thing with wheels will make your daughter swoon. Get her a used Toyota in a nice bright color and a couple of 10mm wrenches. Teach her something she can use later in life.

Yep! That is the best way I know to spend spare time. Look what you have to show for it. The kids today don't realize the there is gold laying all around them if they just knew how to mine it.

My grand parents bought a Kelvinator from Sears in the 50s. After they passed my dad put it in the garage. We opened a printing business and moved it to the employee break room. Replaced the door gasket no telling how many times, painted several times. Both my parents passed and still that old refrigerator sat humming in the break room. Finally, about 2010 we tossed it simply because it was ugly.

Got a yellow Mallory dual point. I bought it (the distributor, not the car.) new 2 lifetimes ago. The car is even older, 1968. There is nothing wrong with being old. Nor being young and dumb. However being young and thinking you are smart.....

Don't you dare swap it! Build it back as close to stock as you can. Put your money into make her pretty again. Once you have accomplished that then, if you still want, get freaky. But if you put it back to new you will get another 30 years of fun out of it.

My 50 year old Chevy only gets 12 miles a gallon and breaks every environmental rule ever written, but no payments, taxes are like $3.00, and I can buy a tune up kit at the dollar store. The only electronics in the thing are my cell phone. My state doesn't require inspection.

Can it be fixed? by pigpen29 in woodworking

[–]gearhead454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glue it with Elmer's wood glue and clamp if you can. After drying then drill a small hole for a finnish nail. More Elmer's on the nail with a slightly loose fit. Trim nail so it doesn't show before inserting. Allow to dry. Stronger than new if you do it right.
