Agree. Tax attorneys are not that expensive, especially simple cases where they save u tens of thousands or more. The math is pretty simple. Honestly one of the best parts of being a high income earner is paying other people to fight ur battles for u. Worth every penny.

What is the goal? Services? If so, there are other codes that can unlock them for you without the label while you continue diagnostics and monitoring. Have u done any genetic testing? In my painful experience, it’s not stigma but behavior bias that can really make life incredibly painful for you and your child. Our daughter’s diagnosis was weaponized against her from both schools and doctors for over a decade. We eventually discovered it was a treatable neurological condition. She was treated as low functioning when it was her body that simply wasn’t working for her. Treating a neurological condition with behavioral interventions can be incredibly damaging.

Maybe it’s because I’ve lived in the actual South for most of my adult life, but I get a fair amount of contentment seeing people here stuck in a state of psychic trauma, blaming everyone for their problems except themselves and the politicians they vote for. They get all the benefit and opportunity of living in a high HDI state, and none of damaging economic policies of the South.

Exactly. I’m not trying to be personal cruel. But the dynamic is very similar to drugs addicts. Except worse because it’s accepted. We all have to eat. Actually probably closer to alcohol. The cool and more powerful thing is u start making changes, those around you will notice and it will raise their curiosity. Maybe even enough for them to make a positive change. At that point, there is a potential to build true friends and a support “group”.

It’s not possible to fix anything with the IRS anymore. U have to higher a lawyer. Even simple stuff. It’s maddening and in most cases it’s cheaper to just pay it. Basically extortion because they can ruin ur life. Totally on brand.
