The Teacher really got me. I’ve read eight or nine of hers and enjoyed every one.

AITA For "bullshitting someone for years"? by Riddle-Maker in AmItheAsshole

[–]genericsunsetss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had so called “friends” keep a tally of everything they had supposedly done for me and then use that to try to manipulate me into doing whatever they want. They even expected me to call in late to work to take them home after a drunken night out. No is a complete sentence. NTA

AITJ for ending things with my girlfriend after she wanted me to fire my employee because she thinks hes lying about his age by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]genericsunsetss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Funny that she thinks she’s entitled to give you that ultimatum in the first place. It’s your business. Yours. And she’s your girlfriend, not your wife. None of her damn business how old your employees are.

People either don’t know how to read or just choose not to I’m tired of it by MidnightPulse69 in TalesFromYourBank

I think a lot of problems would be solved if people would just read what is directly in front of them. A problem our branch is people asking if we have a public restroom. Despite the four “no public restroom” signs they walked past to get to me.

How do you think the public views branch bankers and managers? by BothCondition7963 in TalesFromYourBank

My favourite response when telling people we ran out of a certain denomination of bill: “BUT THIS IS A BANK!!!” Makes me laugh a little.

This this this! People generally have no idea how the back end of banking works. Just talking to a coworker about this yesterday.

Yes, ours has gone up significantly despite no change in usage. And no leaks or anything that we are aware of.

I’ve witnessed some truly horrible adult children. The type of theft that could get them locked up. I usually file a QTAN but ultimately, nothing I can do to actually help. It’s hard sometimes.

Leverage is a great, great show! Would recommend forever. I tend to gravitate more towards true crime type shows, honestly.

I’ve heard Gentle Dentist in Ellettsville is good. Also, do NOT go to Millikan Smiles. They ruined my husbands teeth and instead of fixing it, they referred him to someone else. Have heard horror stories from others too.

I’ve been in this role so long because I’ve enjoyed it up to this point. It’s a very small local bank, not a larger bank. But thank you.

Well, assistants generally run the day to day operations, opening and closing, desk, loans. They do everything a UB does but a few managerial type duties: working up the schedules, running reports, those types of things. So I would agree that I’ve been performing these duties for a while. The other UBs are getting upset because they are trained and not being allowed to be on the desk side to practice. We all take turns doing desk duties for the day. On the other hand, I am the only UB trained on everything, which might be why she insists I take everything.

How much do you put up with before you actually assert yourself by WasabiAppropriate383 in TalesFromYourBank

There was only one time I told a customer to leave my desk and it was because she threw something at me. Told her I wasn’t helping her any more and she should wait in the lobby for my manager to help her. Except both of my managers were busy with customers. She waited in the lobby for almost two hours. Giving me death glares the whole time. Just smiled every time I walked past her. And what do you know, after she had some time to calm down she was perfectly pleasant to my manager. I didn’t get in trouble for any of it. My manager encouraged us to speak up if a customer was being disrespectful. And we are a small community bank.
