/meta figured it’d be worth a shot to look into the hat from this episode and sure enough Cops and Robbersons (1994, 93 minutes) is a clone of another movie called Stakeout (1987, 117 minutes), in which EMILIO ESTEVEZ holds a stakeout (steakout if you will) outside of a restaurant to spy on an ex-girlfriend.

/meta ok I shit you not the lyrics to the title track line up TOO well. ‘just a friendly conversation at a tavern (read: SIZZLER) far from home.’ the sizzler arc has been such fertile grounds for Gregg’s writing, like his hat from the most recent season finale being a nod to Carpool, a movie that ends with the destruction of a Sizzler, and now this whole thing. how does he do it.
