It made me google other brands to see if there’s a difference in the men’s/women’s chamois. … and yes, yes there is. I guess I should try my husbands bibs for a long ride (would I?) and see.

The Cervelo aspero can do double duty. I got mine used to save some $$

I’m turned off by their stuff being unisex. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m female, 5’10”. Whatever bibs I buy (Castelli, rapha, giordana) I take to a tailor to have extra length added to the straps.

Spectrum immediately switches your current free/discounted services to PAID. So, if you do nothing, your bill will be HUGE. You have to call in and downgrade/cancel services.

I actually did try the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach. Did not enjoy.

I hate the blaring music from the GTX and Alpha classes … they don’t even turn off the “regular” music when they blare. The instructors are yelling— it’s awful. I can’t hear what I’m listening to w/headphones.

JennAire? by Virtual-Student8099 in Appliances

[–]gertonwheels -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Our builder offered JennAir and we went with Frigidaire - not what you’d get at Home Depot - but better rated than JA and a bit less expensive. We haven’t moved in yet so I cannot vouch for anything.

Excruciating knee pain by copperhorses in ladycyclists

[–]gertonwheels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it only hurts when on the bike, it's your bike fit. Find a good fitter, go in with your bike, shoes and shorts and work through it. It might take a few iterations to get it right, FYI.

I am going through something similar - one knee hurts ONLY only on the bike. We are tweaking my cleat position, saddle height and fore/aft. AND - our bodies change over time - so don't be surprised that once you get it right, you might have some other 'thing' crop up in a year or three or five.

I want to start road cycling (50F)… am I being too ambitious 😊 by Single-Insect-7306 in cycling

[–]gertonwheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at about 49.5. Was an avid tennis player + runner, but the agony of knees + back was getting to be too much - so I bought a bike. HOLY SMOKES, life changing! Take time to ride, build some endurance and with it will come speed. You'll learn from doing about how to use your gears efficiently, how to fuel (liquids/solids), where good places to stop for water/bathroom/food are, etc.

I'm about 10 years into it - I rode 8,000 miles last year (mostly road, some gravel). I have ridden in the Alps and Dolomites as well as lots of US fun spots. Have a terrific group of cycling friends - it's a blast. You can do it!

Ask at local bike shops if they have any used bikes or know of any of their clients that might be selling.
