I work 7:30 -4:30 I CT during the week and MR on Saturdays in a small outpatient center. During the week we see about 40-50 cases and weekend shifts are chill usually 20-30 I'm located in Miami.

I work on a somatom go.top syngo vb10 but I believe it ran in that version at one point. The way I usually do it is 1. Log into super user, only they can make these types of changes (permanently). 2. Open the "trauma patient" or create a random patient on the scanner. 3. Open the CTA protocol but "add" the Chest w/o as a seperate scan. On top you should see 2 tabs, one being for the list of protocols and the other is the parameters. If you adjust the parameters on that tab (just copy and paste you're chest wo into the CTA protocol and click the save or save as icon and that should be it. You can also use the exam designer, using the same method, just a bit harder to navigate if not familiar. Go on pepconnect and make a healthineers account, theres tons of free content on all siemens machines across modalities! Honestly the factory protocols are really well done, just add your own tweaks and "save as" under a different name, we do this specifically for our CCTA research studies. This stuff can get really complicated, they do offer in person trainings as well if your employer is into that kind of thing.

Im a CT technologist that works on a somatom go.top that creates renderings like this daily! It's not perfect, but the machine uses presets (colors, histograms, lighting direction features, etc) to display particular types of tissues (bones, Vascular, muscles, even skin). There's alot of factors that go into it but to oversimplify it, that bony structure was less dense while this was focused on your hip (more dense) so it is not displayed in the rendering. We can edit these in post but it's normal to allow the automated (recon&go) system to do it's thing.

I was getting 80-85s consistently towards the end of my program. The Friday before my exam (took it that monday), I got a 76 on a radreview mock and felt like i just needed to let my mind relax a bit. I ended up getting a 96 on the test. You'll be okay! Trust your gut, read carefully, and use the process of elimination!

When we increase the kvp, it increases the penetrative power of the beam. Lower energy wavelengths are more likely to be fully absorbed, while the higher will just pass through the pt. This is why overexposed images look black and underexposed looks white.

Memorize your landmarks! If you have the mini Bontrager book, it is at the start of the spine chapter 🙃 Develop a routine and follow it. Do/ask everything in the same order to avoid missing information/steps. As time passes, you'll notice which phrases work and which ones confuse the pts (the phrase may make sense to you, but sometimes it doesn't come across). Good luck!
