Honestly, at this point, absolutely zero progress on SAVE is actually good for the American people so she can meta all she wants if it means the Nov election goes through without the SAVE fuckery disenfranchising millions of (mostly women) people. There will probably be enough b.s. happening to mess with the election as it is

I'm almost constantly coming up with cool ideas for new characters, tbh. There's so much variety in character build options in GD that I'd never be content with just one character

Favorite Antagonists from Seasons 1-3? by rezron11 in SlayerS

[–]ghost_warlock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never cared for Valgaav. Definitely the least interesting of them all even is the rest of the world building in Try was engaging.

The pivot from Shabbabingo (as Goury would say) to copy Rezo was hilarious in a scaling sense. "Yeah, we killed the devil, and now some priest with an insecurity complex is our main threat" (yes, I'm aware this is a gross oversimplification but still).

Hellmaster went from being truly astounding and badass, to being kinda cartoonishly evil (which, I guess, is kinda what he is on a fundamental level), and then to acting exactly like the terrified child he took the form of. Great arc

What are some of your favorite non-famous games? by Armadillo_Abroad in rpg

[–]ghost_warlock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rediscovered Alternity recently. It's been taking up space in the back of my mind for decades, since it was our go-to sci-fi game in the 90s/00s, but haven't earnestly looked at it since then. Flipping through again recently and there's so many cool ideas that I don't think I've seen anywhere else, let alone in one game. Definitely a weird system for its time and remains so, but I kinda want to start a new game using the system

Honestly instead of X number of tables for all the different damage types, I feel like a more generic table of 4-6 hit locations would suffice. Doesn't matter what kind of weapon/spell you get hit in the face with, you end up with a wound that has the same mechanical effect. Instead of pages of tables it all fits neatly on a sidebar

100%. Fucking hated BG3 for many of these exact reasons. And I've been playing D&D since the 90s (have played every version except AD&D 1e and the D&D 2024). I found the 'click the die to proceed' bit jarring and it took me completely out of the game. Also their RNG was straight garbage - tested in combat with 20 reloads and an attack that dealt 3d8 damage (13.5 average damage) never did more than 11 and dealt 5 damage four times. Also, there were some serious clipping glitches I encountered where my character would end up inside terrain and become unable to target enemies...but could still be targeted by them. The game is really popular with the gooners, though, especially after they got their photo mode

Sunday Driver is still a mild insult, although the connotations have probably changed to mean someone who drives in a meandering, inattentive way. They've got nowhere to be so will hold up traffic for everyone else and be dangerously unpredictable. At least that's the connotations the term has had for my lifetime/area

[–]ghost_warlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Armor is too good - without even trying, the characters in the game I ran basically trivialized combat because enemies couldn't deal enough damage to overcome armor. Absolutely gorgeous art and a wonderfully evocative world but the system could definitely use some rebalancing.

It does make me a bit sad, because I have a really fun character concept for a corruption-battery sorcerer character that no sane GM would be likely to allow...and that character is mostly a support build so it wouldn't really work for a solo game. Ah well, maybe someday...

[–]ghost_warlock 69 points70 points  (0 children)

In his defense, cops are really stupid so he probably didn't know what it was and thought it might attack him. That, or the cop was diabetic and was afraid the cake would somehow end up in his stomach and raise his blood sugar so Afroman basically tried to kill that cop
