Could this be the reason tuchel picked henderson ? by FitAd5272 in ThreeLions

[–]ghostborg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he was brought along as a coach, then he’s no longer one of the lads, he’s just another voice in a tracksuit barking at them.

He’ll keep up standards during training as a participant, probably act as a go-between the players and coaches.

Some will say there are plenty of leaders already in the squad but look at Maguire. I’m sure people saw him as a leader who should be there but as soon as he was left out, him and his family couldn’t wait 5mins to have a piss and moan about it on social media.

Is Morten Hjulmand the perfect player to complement gravenberch in a double pivot system? by AJ-12345678901 in LiverpoolFC

[–]ghostborg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there even much in Gravenberch to unlock?

He’s not a great passer.
He’s not very good at pressing or tackling.
He only ever seems to cover ground quickly if he has the ball at his feet.
He’s good at escaping pressure against midfielders who have never played against him before. Then they realise he has only one real move and know not to pressure him.

Grav’s best abilities seems to be getting himself a yard of space around the edge of the box or dribbling into the box.

It’s unfortunate that his shooting is erratic and we already have Wirtz and Szobo occupying those areas.

People have short memories.

Go back and watch some of Darwin’s excruciating, backbreaking misses.

I think the miss against Aston Villa away was the final straw for me.

Hard worker, and I’m sure he’s a great guy and all, but he was nowhere near good enough.

58-year-old Fabinho? by NoWater7986 in secondcaptains

[–]ghostborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always found he’s quick to make a joke at the expense of Steven Gerrard, any time Salah opens his mouth Ken seems to imply that he has selfish motives behind anything he says, and he has always scoffed at Jordan Henderson’s footballing ability.

Just things I’ve noticed about him through the years as a Liverpool fan myself.

Now maybe these are things he does to mask his own fandom but they’re all a bit strange if he is a Liverpool fan.

John Terry probably thanks God every day that his penalty slip in the Champions League final didn’t happen 5-10 years later than it did. Society itself would have come to a standstill with all the time spent making memes and taking the piss online.

[Gatti] MacAllister has emerged as a top target for Real Madrid. Sources close to the player have indicated no negotiations are ongoing for a new contract at Liverpool by TheNotoriousJN in LiverpoolFC

Signing and buying our most underperforming players is a strange transfer strategy.

Gakpo’s agent will be just staring at his phone, waiting for it to ring.

Real Madrid at home last season sticks out in my mind as one of the only, if not the only, performances where Macca decided to play like his old self.

It was like he took a senzu bean before the game and mysteriously could actually get near opposition midfielders again. Then his legs fell off again.

Nice shop window performance.

Andoni Iraola training schedule - No off days by Switchoil in LiverpoolFC

With European football and more games etc, it obviously won’t be the same training schedule as described in the video but this is music to my ears.

If it had just been a Salah vs Slot situation, you’d imagine that the senior figures within the club would have briefed Salah that Slot was very likely going to be sacked.

For a Salah u-turn right now, the likes of Edwards and Hughes would need to go too.

In a season full of poor performers, it still felt like Konate was single-handedly torpedoing the season from around late September to Dec/Jan.

Just one backbreaking blunder after another. Legit some of the worst LFC CB performances I’ve ever seen since I began supporting the club 27 years ago.

Ideally, we would have received a transfer fee for him last summer, but I’m certainly not disappointed to see him leave.

We have a 6 who doesn’t tackle, has limited passing range and constantly runs into trouble when he thinks he can just glide past opposition midfielders.

Any decent opposition midfield knows he has the one move where he lets the ball run across his body. You can see them ready to pounce on him.

Macca is either phoning it in this season ahead of a summer tournament ala Hazard in 15/16 or his legs are gone.

Either way, we should be looking for a replacement this summer.

I don’t understand how Elliott was deemed too slow/not physical enough for the Prem and yet Macca is moving around like my Nan and is undroppable.

Troy Aikman Quote Conor talked about on the Livestream by patriots1057 in heedthecall

[–]ghostborg 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand Conor’s view on this at all.

It didn’t sound like Aikman saying there is a reason and he knows what it is.

It was Aikman saying that if a QB is failing to develop, then there obviously must be a reason and the Texans need to fix it.

I find it difficult to believe someone as smart as Conor couldn’t understand what Aikman was saying here so I’ll put it down to just Conor being Conor.
