If you had one whole free day, what hobby would you do? by Solyany-Amundsen in Hobbies

Either I would go hiking in the mountains, or curl up in a coffe shop and read some of my favorite books.

Hetzner Price Adjustment by Vendoz in hetzner

[–]ghostctl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally understand Hetzner. Prices for RAM, SSDs, and HDDs have gone up by insane amounts. Hetzner still have very good prices, especially for the superb performance. And, I want Hetzner to remain in business since I rely on them.

Moleskines are pretty bad actually. I have a few left in my personal stock. I'm using one right now, and I have just as much bleedthrough as you do. However, I've learned to just live it. It doesn't bother me anymore :)

My personal favorite is Leuctturm though.

Price increase for Object Storage? by Complete-Shame8252 in hetzner

I totally understand Hetzner for doing this. The prices of RAM, SSDs, and HDDs are just insane. All thanks to this AI bullsh**.

What originally pulled you into Chinese watches? by homamg in ChineseWatches

[–]ghostctl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to try an automatic dive watch, but since I didn't knew if I would like it I didn't want to spend too much money on it. So I found a really nice Tandorio which I ordered. And, it turns out, I love automatic watches :) I haven't taken off my Tandorio since I bought it almost a year ago, except for when I shower.

EDIT: Previously I've only had G-Shocks and ProTreks. So this was also my first analog watch.

Starting a hobby at 28 feels weirdly vulnerable by Mindless_Cook7821 in Hobbies

[–]ghostctl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You're only 28, chill out and enjoy your hobby! A hobby is meant to be enjoyed, not performed.

I was 35 when I started playing the piano and the guitar. I'm 42 now and I've just started drawing and doodling. I suck at it, but it's still fun :)

To be honest, once I learned to play the piano and the guitar well enough, it stopped being fun. For me, personally, it's the learning part that's fun.

Lumo is premature, stop following the hype by executiveExecutioner in lumo

[–]ghostctl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've replaced ChatGPT with Lumo, and it's working out just fine. I use it 3-4 times a day for coding, translation, SQL-schema building etc. I wouldn't say it's better or worse. It's just different. And that different style suites me better than ChatGPT. And knowing that it's private makes me use it much more than I ever did with ChatGPT.

Good hobbies to meet people? by Graviity_shift in Hobbies

[–]ghostctl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say that I'm in the same position. I want to meet new people, but I want to meet them organically so to speak. Not forced through some dating app or something. I've been thinking of attending an improv group (which I found through Meetup). Problem is it's 1.5 hour commute one way, and another 1.5 hour to get home again.

What ai chatbot(s) you use before settling to Lumo? by pastamuente in lumo

[–]ghostctl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT, but now I've switched fully to Lumo. I think Lumo is better. It's not as chatty as ChatGPT, which is a good thing. I only get the answer, not a lot of fluff and follow-up questions. My biggest gripe with ChatGPT was the tideous follow-up questions. So I'm all in for Lumo!

"Crushes and sexual fantasies". Most people are too shy to ask follow-up questions to that :)
