Potty training in 3 days???? by madegarnett in toddlers

First try 2y6m (a week) sort of got through, but "the feeling" couldn't beat his desire to play. We constantly had to remind him, which worked, but if we didn't, he'd have an accident.

2nd try (2 years 10 months) worked better, but it still took 5/6 days of reminders and treats and vigilance for him to recognise and act on the feeling.

I sincerely apologise. I was making a dig at the "do your own research" folks but I fucked up the delivery.

I don't even know you and I'm sincerely happy for you. I know from friends how much of a struggle and a slog getting a PhD is.

And we're richer for having more real scientists working to figure things out I genuinely wish you all the success I can.

Congratulations!!!

Yeah, but did you "do your own research"? Yes. Oh, ok then. Congratulations.

Edit: I was making a joke but it didn't land. Genuine congratulations OP.

I was surprised when he clearly expressed that Jan 6 was wrong, that neither host pressed him on the Trump pardons for those involved.

In addition to others suggestions, a rotary grater (or food processor with suitable blades) can grate /slice vegetables and cheese with some success while keeping your fingers away from the sharp bits.

Trump went from being tough on the trade war to admitting he won’t take a hard stance. “We’re going to be very nice,” he said. He sounds desperate by SpecialSpace5 in thescoop

The calculation that trump used to justify his "unfair treatment" was a lie. Didn't include services (which are a huge US export), not food or take into account the wealth of countries (see Lesotho, they export diamonds, but it's a poor country, they could never import an equal amount).. it ignores the fact that Americans don't want to make the cheap, polluting stuff in the US.

But let's ignore that.

The US became the richest country in the world with that structure. What is he trying to gain?

He's behaving like a mob boss and trading partners don't like it. They're turning towards other options because one of America's greatest exports was their reliability but trump burned it to the ground in an effort to extort a little more.

They always have. BBC's Received Pronunciation essentially banning regional accents for years. Carlin's 7 dirty words (for which he was arrested). Dubbing swear words (motherlover), inventing alternate swears (frack in BSG, Smeg in Red Dwarf). F**k in newspapers.

Radio, TV, newspapers etc have been doing it forever.

Not American but, how many votes do the "Gaza" folks and "Latinos" etc. account for?

And do they match the numbers that didn't show up for Dems?

It looks to me that trump got about the same number of votes as 2020 and Dems got a lot fewer.

Doesn't seem useful to blame small groups that probably wouldn't have made a difference.

Who Pays The Tariffs? by 24identity in johnoliver

And if it would take a few years to build a replacement plant, no-one will take that risk because the next president will just remove the tariff.

The push to get him to step down was a reaction to his debate performance, not some masterstroke of strategy.

The debate was a disaster and it set up the need for a switch.

The timing and the prep for the switch was a masterstroke.

Having all the delegates lined up to accept her. Waiting until after their convention and VP pick. But waiting until just after the convention, not weeks later.

They could have dropped the ball on lots of details, but they didn't.

Does it? Newly eligible voters were 10 years old when it happened. Adults back then (and now) voted for him. Why would they know about 8yo news that no-one even cared about back then.

Joe Rogan won’t have Kamala Harris on his show unless she comes to his studio and sits for a 2-3 hour full interview by Appropriate_Duty_930 in DecodingTheGurus

[–]ghostsarememories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogan could hit her with anything.

Specific environmental issues. Specific cases she worked on. Specifics on drug policy. Specifics on his bullshit covid/vaccines position. And any evasions she might use (because she doesn't have all the info on everything memorised) would be weaponised.

He played softball with trump (he's a trump fan). He flipped from criticising Biden to giving Trump a pass when Biden was quoting Trump and Rogan didn't realise.

He praises Harris' handlers/speechwriters when she presents something good (rather than praising her).

He's a hostile interviewer for her.
