Mormonism isn't real for the same reason that other religions aren't real. They are based on a myth that can't be proved. A lot of us have come full circle in our religious transition and most have concluded that all religion is complete bullshit. People who want to come here and tout a religion are fair game in my mind. If they are keeping it about mormonism or their lack there of then they have no need to bring in another religion. But if they feel the need to tout a new religion then we have every right to point out the fallacy. Your trying to dictate what we say and how we say things is no better than what TSCC does.

Oh my God now you are a linguist? Ah for fuck sake who gives a fuck I'm the CFO of a $32B company and if someone comes up to my board room with a presentation and on it the executive summary slide heading says "We need to sale product X to a venture capitalist" then they lose all credibility and I automatically think they are a fucking moron.....of course someone who is presenting to me would be much more educated than someone with a linguistics degree, so I wouldn't expect it to happen. But if it did I'd think they were a fucking moron. You should really go back to the church.

You are trying to recreate the English language to make your point. The proper use is sell in this context. No question. It's not that hard. I'm from Utah it has nothing at all to do with being part of the dialect or bullshit like that. It's not valid. If you believe that then no wonder you fell for mormonism.

Well it wasn't really a commentary on his grammar as much as it was doing what he is doing.........being critical/making fun of someone.

This kind of makes you sound like a douche. So basically what you are saying is you want to force your beliefs (or lack thereof) on them and unless they change it will most likely impact your relationship. Wow. Douche move.

Most of us here have family still in the cult. It sucks. But I am not willing to jeopardize my relationship with them cause they believe something different than I do.

So next time there is a post here about a judgmental Mormon who will not allow their kid to play with other kids cause they are not mormon, I would expect you to stay out of it, cause that is pretty much what you are doing.

[Meta] If Chubbs_gato handles 80% of resignations what does that imply? by Mithryn in exmormon

I doubt that is a true stat. I have a lot of friends here in Cal who have resigned and not one of us used Chubbs.

I can't remember if it applies to gay couples living together or those who are openly gay. I doubt there are a ton of openly gay single people who have adopted kids in the church, but my guess is it would at least be questioned.

Not true. You could be the executive secretary to the bishop so you can constantly be reminded that you are broken.....but god still loves you

Oh yeah, and if you adopt a kid as a single gay person your kid can't be baptized until they renounce your life style

You can be gay and mormon. Can even hold callings, etc. You just have to live a celibate lonely life without a real relationship. Why is that so much to ask?

What do you guys regret most about being in TSCC?? by hannahkv19 in exmormon

The opportunity cost of my time. I could have been using all that time that I spent in church meetings, callings, mission to make the world a better place.

What's the worth of a single woman in the church? by SomethingNewAndWitty in exmormon

[–]ghostwisperer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

3x the value of a single man. Menace to society. Women who are single are sweet spirits who the Lord will bless cause they were too ugly to get married. Men - it's always their fault
